Who Should the Gasoline Be Awarded To

One morning, Mama Car went out to buy gasoline and reminded her two children to practice running well.

In the evening, Mama Car returned home with a big can of gasoline and said, “Today, whoever ran the best gets a bucket of 97-octane gas!”

Red Car proudly said, “Today I participated in a running race and came in first place!”

Blue Car shyly replied, “I participated in a running race too, but I fell behind.”

“Who did you race against today?” Mama Car asked.

“I raced against bicycles, and none of them could keep up with me!” Red Car boasted.

“I raced against the Harmony train, and they were all faster than me,” Blue Car said, feeling embarrassed.

“My dear children,” Mama Car kissed Blue Car and gave him a lot of 97-octane gas, saying, “This is your prize!”

Red Car, feeling unsatisfied, asked, “I won first place today; why did you give the 97-octane gas to Blue Car?”

Mama Car took Red Car’s hand and said, “Because Blue Car had the courage to compete against a stronger opponent!”
