Mama Fox dressed herself up as a rooster and sneaked into the rooster village, hoping to catch a chicken for a big meal.
She hid her long tail inside a big skirt, making herself look plump.
As soon as Mama Fox entered the village, she was spotted by Papa Fox, who was lying in ambush in a haystack. He thought, “That chicken is so fat! If I catch it, it will feed our family for days.”
Papa Fox pounced, grabbed Mama Fox, and, using all his strength, carried her away as fast as he could. When he got home and took a look, he was dumbfounded. The “chicken” he had worked so hard to catch was actually his own wife.
“Daddy is so funny, catching Mommy!” The little foxes laughed and rolled on the ground.
Mama Fox was furious and scolded Papa Fox harshly: “Are you blind? You can’t even recognize me.”
