True love stories
This touching story belongs to an extraordinary business tycoon.
He passed away, yet everything he left behind continues to impact the world.
This American named Steve Jobs was married for 20 years.
Obviously, marrying a globally revered yet short-lived innovator is a challenging task, as he often forgot anniversaries or birthdays due to his busy schedule. In fact, it could be said that from the moment he decided to start a family, he belonged only to his dreams and millions of “Apple fans.”
Jobs felt that the person he owed the most was his wife. So, in his final moments, he decided to make amends.
He reflected on how selfish and demanding he had been. “Laurene had to cope with all this and take care of me when I was sick,” he said. “I know living with me wasn’t a pleasure.” He decided to give the person he loved the most a yacht.
At the time, the yacht was already being built by the Dutch yacht customization company Feadship, but Jobs was still making design changes. “I knew there was a possibility I would die, leaving Laurene a half-built yacht,” he said, “but I had to keep going. If I didn’t, it would be admitting I was about to die.”
wedding
In 2011, during their 20th wedding anniversary, Jobs said to his wife, “Twenty years ago, we met as strangers, but we fell in love at first sight. The snowflakes of Avani witnessed our vows.
Time has passed, our children have grown up, there have been sweet moments and tough times, but never bitterness. Our love has endured, and walking through life with you, we have grown old but wiser. Let the wrinkles mark our faces, let the vicissitudes fill our hearts.”
After reading a passage, he was already sobbing uncontrollably.
After crying, he said he had made a set of photos for each of his children. “I think they might want to see that I was once young too.”
Two years later, this man who idolized Socrates was summoned by God, leaving the world in regret, at the age of 56.
