The Storytelling Little Star

The little hedgehog found a small star and quickly took her home.

“Can you please let me go back home?”

“You twinkle so adorably, I just can’t let you go.”

“Then I’ll tell you a story every day for three days, and after that, will you let me go home?”

“Alright then.”

On the first day, the little star told him the story of “A Little Star.” On the second day, she told him “The Hamster That Collected Stars.” On the third day, she told him “The Star and the Hedgehog.”

“Now, will you send me home?”

“But, but I like you so much, I can’t bear to let you go!”

The hedgehog asked the little star to keep telling him wonderful stories every day.

As the weather grew colder, the hedgehog gathered many red and yellow leaves every day, piling them thickly over his house. The star would glow and twinkle at night, and he didn’t want anyone to discover her.

Mama Moon noticed that her child was missing and became very worried. She called out for the little star, asking everyone about her, growing thinner from her anxiety.

One night, when the little hedgehog went out to find food, Mama Moon asked him, “Have you seen my little star?”

“No, I haven’t seen her, I really don’t know!” the little hedgehog stammered.

Mama Moon couldn’t find the little star and started crying. Her tears filled the sky with a light rain. She cried so hard and grew so sad that her face turned dark.

The Sun God sent the Celestial Dog to find the little star. The Celestial Dog sniffed all around and finally dug through layers of dry leaves and branches, finding the little star.

Because the little hedgehog had lied to Mama Moon, everyone was very angry and decided to punish him by making him stay in his den forever.

“Mom, even though he lied to us, he was very good to me,” the little star pleaded with her mother.

“Alright then, he will be punished by sleeping for a few months. When it gets warm, he can come out!”

From then on, the little hedgehog had to sleep for several months every year. When the weather warmed up, he could come out to play with the little star who told stories.
