The Pelican Mama’s Big Mouth
By the riverbank, an old cow is grazing, a little lamb is butting its head, and a little chick, full from eating worms, is watching the fun.
In the small river, a little goose is swimming, a little duck is catching fish, and a little pelican is playing in the water, having a great time.
Pelican Mama flies in. She scoops up a mouthful of fish to feed her little pelican.
The little pelican dives right into Mama’s big mouth and starts eating, making “smack, smack” sounds. His friends find his appearance hilarious and can’t help but laugh.
The little pelican gets angry: “What are you laughing at? Is my eating style funny?”
“Big mouth, Pelican Mama has a big mouth!” The little animals tease the pelican mama even more!
But Pelican Mama isn’t upset at all. She patiently waits for her baby to finish eating, then scoops him up with her big mouth and spreads her wings to fly. Pelican Mama does a loop in the air and gently lands on the riverbank. The little pelican jumps out from Mama’s mouth, happily swimming in the river.
Wow, the little pelican has been on a “plane”! The little duck and goose are envious, gathering around the little pelican. The little chick on the shore is jumping up and down, shouting, “Big plane, we want to ride too!”
The “big plane” flies to the riverbank and opens its big mouth. The little chicks scramble to get on.
The “big plane” takes off. Looking down from the sky is a different view; the little passengers are excited, watching the ground get farther and farther away.
After a while, the “big plane” lands on the river and turns into a “big boat.” The little chicks, along with the little duck, goose, and pelican, all have a water fight, and they’re having so much fun!
At that moment, Pelican Mama takes a deep breath. What is she going to do? Suddenly, she closes her big mouth and dives into the water.
Wow, the “big boat” has transformed into a “submarine,” diving underwater. Inside the “submarine,” it’s dark, and the little passengers feel a bit scared!
Soon, the “submarine” turns back into the “big plane,” bringing the little passengers back to the riverbank.
“Mommy, Mommy, you must be tired from flying; take a break!” the little pelican says as he runs up to Mama. He even catches a little fish to give to her!
Look, Pelican Mama is so happy that she can’t close her mouth!
