The Origin of Dimples Story

On Earth, two dimples were born. They were incredibly cute, always playing around and never staying quiet for a moment. One day, Mother Nature asked them, “Children, everything in the world has its own purpose. What can you do?”

“We’re very happy. Isn’t that enough?” the dimples asked, puzzled.

“Look, the sunlight brings warmth to the world, and the rain helps plants grow. Everyone has their own job,” Mother Nature said with a smile. The dimples thought about it and realized it was true. So, the two dimples cheerfully set off on a journey to find their job.

The sunlight accompanied them, leading the way. The dimples chased after the sunlight, arriving under a tree; they rode on a butterfly’s wings and landed on flowers. But they still couldn’t find a suitable job. The sun was about to set, and the sunlight bid them farewell and quietly returned home. One of the dimples said, “Oh, we don’t even have a place to rest tonight.”

Just then, the dimples noticed an open window. The stars came out, peeking quietly inside. The Moon Goddess sent silver moonlight to help the dimples. The two dimples followed the moonlight, flying through the window and into the house. The moonlight led them to a crib, where a baby was sound asleep.

“Wow,” the two dimples said simultaneously, “I like resting on these rosy cheeks.” They each occupied a cheek as a bed, resting there for the entire night.

At dawn, the robin’s loud chirping woke the dimples. One dimple said, “We still haven’t found our job.” The other dimple replied, “Let’s stay here for now. The baby is waking up, and we have to hide.” The two dimples concealed themselves in the baby’s cheeks. Soon, the baby opened its big blue eyes and saw the sunlight streaming through the window onto the crib.

The sunlight coaxed the dimples, inviting them to come out and play. But the dimples only peeked out, not coming out completely. As they peeked, they brought a charming smile to the baby’s face.

“It seems you’ve finally found your job,” the sunlight said.

Next time you see a baby, you’ll notice the dimples playing hide and seek on its cheeks.
