The Night of Little Bear and Little Bunny

Autumn had arrived, and ever since the Harvest Festival, the temperature in the forest had started to drop.

During the day, it wasn’t too bad; the warm sunlight felt cozy on the skin. But the temperature difference between day and night was so great that the little bunny, who was always afraid of the cold, had to curl up under the blanket even while sleeping.

The temperature at this time of year was particularly tricky. The first half of the night was a bit warm, but the latter half could get chilly. So, over the past few nights, the little bunny had been waking up repeatedly, enduring the little bear’s rhythmic snoring. After a few days, the little bunny’s dark circles were almost as prominent as Panda Doctor’s, making her look quite pitiful.

The little bear had thought of many solutions to this problem.

First, he prepared a blanket to drape over the little bunny’s shoulders so she could take it off if she got warm and pull it back on if she felt cold. But since the little bunny wasn’t very still in her sleep, the blanket would get lost after a few tosses and turns.

Next, the little bear laid an electric blanket on the little bunny’s bed. But even on the lowest setting, the little bunny found it too warm and ended up drinking water frantically the next day.

Then, the little bear bought some thermal pajamas for the little bunny. But as soon as she tried them on, she took them off—not because they were uncomfortable or unappealing, but because they made her feel strange.

In the little bunny’s words, wearing pajamas felt like there was something unfinished, like she was always on the verge of getting up to do something else.

With no other options, the little bear set an alarm with a vibrating feature and placed it under his pillow, getting up twice each night to tuck the little bunny in.

This way, the little bunny slept well, but within a few days, the dark circles had moved to the little bear’s eyes.

“Little bear, you shouldn’t get up at night to tuck me in anymore,” the little bunny said, her heart aching as she looked at the little bear’s dark circles.

“It’s no problem at all. It won’t be long. Once the temperature drops a bit more, we can switch to a thicker blanket,” the little bear replied, taking a big sip of the honey pumpkin soup the little bunny had made and waving his hand dismissively.

“I’m serious. If I get cold, I’ll wake up and cover myself.”

“The temperature is so unpredictable; what if you catch a cold?”

“But I don’t want you to be so exhausted,” the little bunny whined.

“No way. I promised to take good care of you, and there’s no room for negotiation on this,” the little bear said firmly.

Normally, the little bear would listen to the little bunny on most things, as long as they weren’t matters of principle. But when it came to her health or safety, he wouldn’t budge an inch.

“You’re so stubborn…” The little bunny knew that continuing to argue would be pointless, so she pouted and muttered under her breath. But deep down, she felt warm and fuzzy inside.

However, the little bunny wasn’t ready to “give up the fight” just yet. After all, she couldn’t bear to see the little bear sleep so poorly.

So, she spent the whole day keeping her mind in an excited state, which would help her think more clearly.

“Ugh! How could I be so silly! Why didn’t I think of this earlier?” the little bunny suddenly exclaimed, knocking on her head. It seemed she had come up with a solution.

“I made this problem more complicated than it needed to be…”

“Now the little bear can finally get a good night’s sleep! Heehee~”

Before she knew it, the day had passed, and night had fallen again.

“Little bunny, it’s time to go to bed~~”

“Okay~~” the little bunny responded, then climbed into bed and pulled the covers over her head.

“You’re really going to sleep like that…” The little bear was about to ask if the little bunny could actually sleep with her head covered, but before he could finish his sentence, he felt something moving in his bed. No need to guess—it was the little bunny.

“Little bunny, what are you doing?”

“Heehee~~ You’re so warm. Let’s cuddle and sleep together~~” The little bunny said as she snuggled into the little bear’s arms, pressing her face against his and rubbing against him affectionately.

It was so warm being held by the little bear. His body was soft and fuzzy. Snuggling up to him, even the static electricity from their rubbing felt like little sparks of affection.

How had the little bunny not thought of this wonderful idea earlier? But now wasn’t too late.

So, she decided to enjoy a beautiful dream like this.

Good night.
