The Little Pigeon that Wants to See the Ocean
In the forest, there was a little pigeon with a dream: to see the blue ocean. After such a long time, had its wish come true?
The little swallow, little pigeon, little sparrow, and little magpie were all listening to the little swan talk about the ocean: “The vast blue ocean is endless. The waves crash against the rocks, creating beautiful splashes!”
The little pigeon asked, “Is the ocean far from us?”
The little swan replied, “When I was very young, my parents took me to see the ocean. We flew a very long distance.”
The little pigeon asked again, “Have you only seen the ocean once?”
The little swan said, “Yes, the journey is indeed very long. Although I’ve only been there once, I will never forget the ocean’s beauty.”
The little pigeon was very envious after hearing this. It really wanted to see the ocean too!
One day, it discussed the idea of going to see the ocean with the little swallow, little sparrow, and little magpie. The little swallow said, “I won’t go. The little swan said the journey is very far!”
The little sparrow and little magpie also advised the little pigeon, “We are so small. How could we fly so far? What if we encounter eagles?”
But the little pigeon was determined. It made up its mind to see the beautiful ocean. It flew tirelessly towards the ocean, stopping to find food when it was hungry and to drink water when it was thirsty.
It flew for a very long time. One day, just as the sky was beginning to lighten, the little pigeon finally smelled the scent of the ocean and heard the sound of the waves.
It excitedly landed on the beach, exclaiming, “The ocean is truly magnificent!”
