The Little Flower Blanket That Changed Scents
Mole Tutu had a little flower blanket with beautiful flowers printed on it.
The house was very damp, and the little flower blanket became damp as well. Tutu’s mother said, “Take it out into the sunshine to dry.”
Tutu dragged the little flower blanket outside and spread it out on a big stone at the entrance of their home, where the warm sunlight shone on it.
Around the big stone were green grasses, and the four corners of the little flower blanket rested on the grass, slowly falling asleep.
Near the grass were small flowers—pink, white, yellow… The wind blew, carrying the flowers’ pollen into the air, dancing in circles around the little flower blanket.
The flower fragrance attracted little bees. One bee flew too fast and ended up spilling the small honey jar hanging around its neck. The other bees scolded the little bee for being so careless!
“What a delicious honey scent!” A little bear, searching for food, smelled the honey. The little bear grabbed the little flower blanket and hung it on a tree, sniffing here and there, looking for the honey.
“What a beautiful little flower blanket!” The tree branch was happy, twisting its body and playing with the little flower blanket. The little flower blanket had a great time, smelling the tree’s fragrant scent. It was a camphor tree.
The little flower blanket and the camphor tree played happily while the sun gently waved goodbye to them.
“Tutu, Mr. Sun is going home. Hurry and bring in your little flower blanket,” Tutu’s mother called out.
Tutu ran to the big stone to find her little flower blanket.
Huh, where did the little flower blanket go? It was missing!
Tutu cried, “My little flower blanket, my little flower blanket is gone…”
A mischievous long-tailed monkey, eating chestnuts in the tree, heard the crying and quickly shouted, “Little mole, your little flower blanket is here!”
With a flick of its tail, the monkey jumped to the camphor tree, picked up the little flower blanket, and jumped down.
Ah, it was true! Tutu hugged and kissed the little flower blanket.
“Thank you, long-tailed monkey. I thought my little flower blanket was lost,” Tutu thanked the monkey.
“Quickly go home. It will be very cozy to cover yourself with the little flower blanket tonight. I wish you sweet dreams,” said the long-tailed monkey, then swiftly disappeared into the trees.
At night, Tutu smelled the fragrant little flower blanket. As she turned, she smelled grass fragrance, flower fragrance, and honey fragrance. Flipping the little flower blanket, she smelled the scent of camphor, sunlight, and even the scent of chestnuts from the long-tailed monkey’s hands!
Haha, the little flower blanket could change scents—fragrant and sweet…
“Little flower blanket, I’ll make sure you get lots of sunshine from now on,” Tutu said happily, hugging her little flower blanket.
As night deepened, Tutu, covered with her little flower blanket, had a sweet and fragrant sleep, dreaming a sweet and fragrant dream, becoming a sweet and fragrant little mole.
