The Little Bear Yields
The little bear was chubby and very strong.
As the little bear was walking down the road, a little rabbit came towards him. Standing in the middle of the road, the bear shouted, “Hey, little thing, make way for me!”
The little rabbit was afraid of the bear, so it had no choice but to crawl through the grass by the side of the road.
Soon, a little sheep came along.
The little bear stood in the middle of the road again and said, “Hey, little guy, make way for me!”
The little sheep was frightened and silently waded through the ditch by the side of the road.
As for the little monkey, it was even more afraid of the little bear and climbed up a small tree beside the road from a distance.
The little bear was very proud of himself. “Hmph, I’m so strong, everyone is afraid of me!”
The little rabbit, little sheep, and little monkey went together to find the big lion and asked him to teach the little bear a lesson.
The big lion smiled and nodded.
The big lion walked in front, with the little rabbit, little sheep, and little monkey following behind.
When the little bear saw the big lion coming, he thought, “This is serious, I’d better make way.” He stood by the side of the road and invited the big lion to pass first.
The big lion walked up to the little bear and stood by the side of the road, saying, “Little bear, you go first!”
The little rabbit, little sheep, and little monkey were all stunned when they heard this: the big lion was afraid of the little bear too!
The little bear, feeling embarrassed, lowered his head and walked past the big lion.
From then on, whenever the little bear saw the little rabbit, little sheep, or little monkey coming, he immediately stood by the side of the road and let them pass first.
Now, the little rabbit, little sheep, and little monkey understood and they all said, “The big lion is really smart; the little bear has become polite!”
