The Joeys Give Up Their Seats

Haihai and Yangyang are a pair of baby kangaroos belonging to Mama Kangaroo. On Sunday, they happily took the bus with their mom to visit their grandmother.

When they first got on the bus, there were few people, and they comfortably took their seats. As the bus traveled, more and more people got on. Eventually, Grandfather Sheep and Grandmother Hen squeezed onto the bus, but there were no seats left. They had to stand.

Seeing Grandfather Sheep and Grandmother Hen standing nearby made Haihai and Yangyang uncomfortable. They remembered what Auntie Deer had said in kindergarten: “Respect your elders and be good children!”

Haihai and Yangyang chatted briefly, then left their seats and said in unison, “Grandfather Sheep, Grandmother Hen, please take our seats!”

“No! It’s so crowded, there’s hardly any room to stand. You’re still small, you might get hurt. You should keep your seats,” Grandfather Sheep said with concern.

“Grandfather Sheep, you should sit down!” Mama Kangaroo urged as she invited Grandfather Sheep and Grandmother Hen to sit. She then hugged Haihai and Yangyang and said, “Babies, come into Mommy’s pouch!”

Haihai and Yangyang jumped into the large pouch on their mom’s chest, and they were no longer crowded. Although they couldn’t see the beautiful scenery outside, their hearts were filled with sweetness. Listen! Grandfather Sheep and Grandmother Hen were praising them for being polite and well-mannered children!
