Uncle Careless is impatient and works quickly. He can wash ten bowls, twenty plates, and three pots in one minute. Even so, he still thinks he’s not fast enough.

A few days later, Uncle Careless returned from a business trip and was shocked upon entering his home. In the kitchen, chopsticks were stuck together and had sprouted bamboo leaves. The unwashed rice grains in the bowls had germinated. Green mold, a foot tall, was growing on the plates. Uncle Careless slapped his forehead. “Oh, I’m so careless!”

One day, Uncle Careless came home after playing ball and wanted to take a bath, but when he turned on the faucet, there was no water. He had to wipe his face with a towel and went to bed sweaty. The kitchen faucet was left running.

The next morning, Uncle Careless wanted to make breakfast, but where was the kitchen? The kitchen had disappeared, replaced by a large water pool in the yard, with a jet of water shooting up from the center. He thought, “Losing the kitchen and getting a big pond isn’t bad.” Uncle Careless loved fish, so he brought many small fish fry to the pool. To prevent anyone from stealing the fish, he brought a big cat from a relative’s house to guard the pool.

The big cat was fierce. When anyone approached the pool, it arched its back and glared so intimidatingly that even the neighbor’s Pekingese dog didn’t dare to come near.

However, Uncle Careless often forgot to feed the big cat, leaving it hungry.

One afternoon, the big cat was so hungry that it couldn’t stand it anymore and dipped its tail into the pool to fish. Not only was the big cat a good guard, but it was also a great fisherman. In no time, it had eaten dozens of small fish.

Every day, the big cat relied on fishing to fill its stomach, becoming addicted to eating fish.

The neighbor’s Pekingese dog didn’t like this and reported it to Uncle Careless.

Uncle Careless was skeptical, so he took a net to the pool to fish but couldn’t catch a single one. He glanced at the big cat napping nearby. It had grown much larger and emitted a fishy smell.

“Big cat, did you steal the fish?” asked Uncle Careless.

“I, I…” the big cat stammered, its eyes fearful.

Before it could finish, Uncle Careless grabbed it and threw it into the pool.

The big cat gulped down the water, and the pool’s water level dropped. Gradually, the kitchen reappeared. Uncle Careless widened his eyes, seeing the kitchen faucet still gushing water. He suddenly realized that it was his failure to turn off the faucet that caused all this!

Having drunk all the water in the pool, the big cat had turned into an enormous cat, unique in the world. It slowly and laboriously walked away, looking like a gigantic fish swimming in the wind.
