The Cute Little Giraffe

As the little giraffe grew bigger, he often wandered alone in the forest, away from his mom. One day, he saw a gray rabbit hanging clothes to dry. Suddenly, he stretched out his long neck, grabbed the clothes, and hung them high up in a tree. Laughing, he said to the little gray rabbit, “Haha, you’re so short, there’s no way you can reach them now!”

The little gray rabbit glared at him angrily and said, “Annoying little giraffe, give me back my clothes!”

Then, the little giraffe saw a little bear flying a kite. He suddenly stretched out his neck and said, “You’re too clumsy to fly a kite. Let me do it for you!”

The little bear glared at the little giraffe angrily and said, “Who says I’m clumsy? Who says I can’t fly a kite? Annoying little giraffe, go away!”

The little giraffe went back home and told his mom, “The little gray rabbit and the little bear must be jealous that I have such a beautiful long neck. That’s why they both call me ‘annoying little giraffe.’”

His mother said, “You shouldn’t always blame others. You need to reflect on your own behavior!”

The little giraffe left his mom again and went to play in the forest by himself. He saw the little gray rabbit looking helplessly at the clothes blown to the top of the tree by the wind. He quickly walked over, took down the clothes, and handed them back to the little gray rabbit. The little gray rabbit gratefully said, “Thank you, cute little giraffe!”

Then, the little giraffe saw the little bear’s kite blown by the wind to a tree on the other side of a stream. He quickly walked over, stretched his neck across the stream, and retrieved the kite. The little bear gratefully said, “Thank you, cute little giraffe!”

The little giraffe went back home and told his mother about what happened during his trip. He said, “Just now, both the little gray rabbit and the little bear called me a ‘cute little giraffe,’ and their attitude changed! I’m so happy!”

His mother said, “I’m glad others are praising you, but what makes me even happier is that you’ve changed from only thinking about yourself to considering others.”
