The Brave Little Wolf
Little Wolf, a young lad, with skills second to none.
Carrying a long spear, he roams far and wide, wanting to measure the world.
By the roadside, near a small pond, a duck weeps with teary eyes: “The Mountain King, heartless as he is, stole my pretty dress!”
Under the big tree, where the shadows stretch long, a little elephant weeps with teary eyes: “The Mountain King, cruel as he is, took away my cozy bed!”
Little Wolf, the young lad, hears this and anger rises in his chest: “Don’t cry, don’t fret, I’ll help you find the Mountain King!”
On the hillside, the breeze is cool, the green grass waves like the sea.
Little Wolf, with no mind to enjoy the scenery, is only focused on finding the Mountain King.
The moon shines bright, lighting up the hill. Little Wolf climbs the hill, looking east, looking west, but the Mountain King is nowhere to be found. A kind-hearted little mantis speaks up to help: “The Mountain King is in hiding. If you want to find him, you must first visit the land of the Magic Mirror.”
Little Wolf, the young lad, chases the sun, races the moon, sailing across the Pacific for three days and three nights. He looks to the east, looks to the west, and finally finds the land of the Magic Mirror.
Little Wolf charges ahead, crossing small stream corridors, entering the grand hall of the mountains, and sure enough, there he sees the Mountain King.
The Mountain King, as big as a giant, stares at the Magic Mirror, with the smell of food still in the air.
Little Wolf, the young lad, raises his spear and loudly declares: “Mountain King, surrender at once! Hand over the duck’s pretty dress, hand over the little elephant’s cozy bed! Or else bullets will fly, and you’ll be in for a world of pain!”
But to his surprise, the Mountain King, even more powerful, turns around, puffs out his chest, and raises his hands, grabbing Little Wolf by his small shoulders: “Silly little wolf, I’m your mother! Dinner’s getting cold, and here you are, still playing hide and seek. Are you asking for a spanking?”
