The Brave Little Rooster
The big tree had been harassed by the squirrel for a month. The squirrel kept tickling the tree’s sensitive spots, making the tree laugh so hard it could hardly breathe and was on the verge of suffocation.
But no one understood the tree’s laughter; everyone thought it was just the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves.
One day, the little rooster and his mother were walking under the big tree. The little rooster found it strange that the leaves were moving so much when there was no wind. Then he discovered that the squirrel was vigorously tickling the tree.
The little rooster told the squirrel that tickling someone occasionally is friendly, but if you tickle them nonstop, it’s bullying, and bullying is what bad people do. Hearing that he was being called a bad person, the squirrel quickly stopped.
The big tree was especially grateful to the little rooster.
There are fewer and fewer people in this world who can understand the language of trees. Actually, everything has its own language, like the grass, the bowls, and the buildings.
That evening, the little rooster saw two deer and a little duck talking through the window.
The little rooster felt something was not right and went downstairs to listen.
The two deer were hoping the little duck would lead the way for them. The little duck agreed.
The deer invited the little duck to get into their van. The little rooster felt something was wrong and called the police.
The little rooster ran over and spread his wings to block the little duck. The two deer looked fierce. The little duck hadn’t noticed anything yet.
The little rooster said to the little duck, “You can’t get into a stranger’s car. What if they are kidnappers?”
One deer laughed and said, “The big bad wolf is a kidnapper; have you ever seen a deer kidnapper?”
One deer threw the little rooster to the ground,
while the other reached out, ready to force the little duck into the van.
Just then, a police car arrived. The police put handcuffs on the two deer. It turned out they really were fugitives.
Sheriff Lion told the little duck that bad guys looking like the big bad wolf was something from before the Qing Dynasty. Nowadays, bad guys often look like good people.
Sheriff Lion said not to talk to strangers easily and never get into a stranger’s car. The little duck, still shaken, nodded in agreement.
Because the little rooster bravely rescued the little duck, the police chief awarded the little rooster the title of “Gallant Rooster.”
The little rooster became a little hero in the animal kingdom.
