Little Pangolin is a brave boy.

He loves sports, traveling, and adventures. However, he has a flaw: he tends to be forgetful and careless, often causing some funny incidents. His dad criticizes him, and his classmates blame him, but Little Pangolin thinks it’s just a minor flaw, nothing to make a fuss about.

One day, Little Pangolin was playing on the small hill in front of his house when, after a sudden gust of wind, a disc-like object landed in front of him.

“Ah, it’s a UFO, an extraterrestrial visitor!” Little Pangolin had seen UFOs in picture books and was very excited, pounding on the door of the UFO.

The door opened, and a big-headed creature stepped out—probably an alien. He asked Little Pangolin, “I come from planet C3. Would you like to go on an adventure with me?”

“Yes, I do! I’ll become an extraterrestrial visitor too!” Little Pangolin was thrilled and started climbing onto the UFO. But as soon as the UFO left Earth, Little Pangolin shouted, “Stop, stop! I haven’t had breakfast yet. I want to eat the ant-stuffed pancakes my grandma made.”

Indeed, where would he find such delicious pancakes in outer space?

The UFO returned to Earth, and Little Pangolin ran home to get the pancakes. The UFO took off again. Suddenly, Little Pangolin shouted again, “Go back, go back! I’m wearing slippers. It’s so impolite to visit someone like this.” The UFO returned to Earth once more.

Little Pangolin went home and changed into a pair of hiking boots, and the UFO took off again. Little Pangolin suddenly shouted again, “Go back, go back! I need to bring a pen. I need to jot down my experiences along the way and write letters to my parents.” The UFO had no choice but to return to Earth again.

When Little Pangolin fetched the pen, the UFO was gone. All that was left was a note in the spot where the UFO had been:

Mr. Pangolin,

It seems that being forgetful and indecisive is not suitable for traveling and adventures. Besides, at this rate, my fuel will surely run out. Goodbye!

The adventure-loving, brave little boy Pangolin stood on the hill, holding the note, and cried…
