Story for kids about timidity: The Timid Little Kitten

Kami is a very timid kitten. His friends have all started learning how to catch mice, but he still doesn’t dare to go out by himself at night!

“Mom, stay with me, I’m scared!” Little Kami often cries out like this.

“How can you be so timid?” Mother Cat and his friends were very worried.

Kami’s older brother came up with a good idea and secretly told everyone about it. That night, as the gentle breeze blew, Little Kami snuggled up to his mother, listening to her tell a story.

“Little Kami, quick! Quick!” His friends burst in, shouting loudly, “There’s a party on the other side of the hill, let’s all go!” With that, they all left together.

Little Kami panicked, “Wait for me!” But his friends were already far away.

“You should go on your own, Little Kami,” Mother Cat said kindly, “Don’t be afraid. Maybe you’ll meet your friends along the way.”

Little Kami really wanted to attend the party, so he finally went out by himself.

“Oh, what’s that?” Little Kami was startled by the glow of a firefly, “Oh, it must be my friends,” he thought, “That twinkling must be their eyes.”

Little Kami was no longer afraid and walked on. He kept looking around, hoping to bump into his friends.

“Hehe, there’s another sparkle! Someone must be hiding in the tree!” Little Kami said with a smile. In fact, it was just the dewdrops on the leaves shining in the moonlight.

Little Kami thought, my friends are everywhere, there’s nothing to fear about going out alone. He walked and walked until he reached the other side of the hill. But it was deserted and quiet there. “I must be late,” Little Kami thought regretfully, and turned around to head home.

When he got back home, he found the house was crowded with his friends.

“Ha, the party is at home!” Little Kami shouted happily. His big brother presented him with a bouquet of flowers to congratulate him on becoming a brave little kitten.
