Story about friendship
Little Rabbit Robby stood on a path covered with dandelions. He had been standing there for a very, very long time.
Whoosh, whoosh—the wind blew. Robby stood on tiptoe, his eyes unblinkingly looking into the distance.
A line of ants hurried home. They saw Robby in the wind.
“Robby, go home! It’s going to rain.”
Robby didn’t move a step and said, “This time last year, Kami and I agreed to meet here.”
Kami was Robby’s friend, a cute little mouse. But where was she now?
The ants slowly walked away and disappeared into a field of purple flowers.
Drip, drip—the rain started. Robby still stood there waiting.
A flock of birds hurriedly flew home. They saw Robby in the rain.
“Robby, go home! The rain is soaking your beautiful fur.”
Robby wiped the raindrops from his eyes with his front paws and said, “This time last year, Kami and I agreed to meet here.”
The birds quickly flew away. But where was Kami?
The rain stopped, night fell, and on the path covered with dandelions, lonely Robby was still gazing into the distance.
A spotted dog ran past the path and saw Robby in the night.
“Robby, why don’t you go home? It’s already dark.”
Robby said sadly, “This time last year, Kami and I agreed to meet here.”
“But Kami didn’t come. You don’t need to wait for her.”
“No! Maybe she’ll come in a little while.”
The spotted dog walked away and disappeared into the shadows of the swaying trees.
That night, the ants, birds, and the spotted dog who had seen Robby all thought in their dreams: Did Kami come?
Kami didn’t come!
When night passed and a new day arrived, Robby lowered his head and slowly walked home.
Later, everyone knew about the trustworthy Robby and the untrustworthy Kami.
