Squirrel and Gray Rabbit

The squirrel jumped down from the pine tree to drink water by the stream. The gray rabbit emerged from the grass and also went to the stream to drink water. The squirrel, swinging its fluffy big tail, said to the gray rabbit, “Look, my tail is so long and beautiful, it’s the best tail in the world! And look at your tail, it’s short and ugly, I feel sorry for you!”

The gray rabbit glanced at the squirrel disdainfully and said coldly, “What’s so good about a long tail? I think your tail is a burden. Look at my tail, short and agile, this is the best tail in the world!”

Both the squirrel and the gray rabbit praised their own tails, arguing until their faces turned red, neither willing to give in. A golden monkey passed by the stream, heard the squirrel and gray rabbit arguing, and approached them, saying, “The squirrel can use its long tail as a blanket to cover itself when sleeping and for balance when jumping around in the trees. It truly is a good tail.”

The squirrel smiled and said to the gray rabbit, “You see, the golden monkey also says my tail is good!”

The golden monkey said, “I haven’t finished speaking yet. The gray rabbit often has to run desperately to escape from wolves. Its short tail makes it very convenient for quick movements. I think its tail is also very good.”

The gray rabbit said to the squirrel, “You see, the golden monkey also says my tail is good!”

The golden monkey said earnestly, “If you swapped your tails, what would happen? Without its long tail, the squirrel’s life would become very inconvenient; the gray rabbit dragging a long tail would find it even harder to move, making it easier for wolves to catch. Your tails are very suitable for each of you, but you must not be arrogant and look down on others. It is absurd to judge others by your own standards!”

Children, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. What suits you is the best.
