Special Cow story

Little Cow Lolo lived on a dairy farm. Every day, the keeper would pile hay in front of her, hoping she would eat more and produce milk soon.

“I won’t eat this hay!” Lolo angrily told the keeper.

“Where do you want to eat then?” the keeper asked her kindly.

“I want to eat the grass that grows on the mountain.”

“Alright! I’ll take you there.” The keeper took Lolo to a hillside.

It was a beautiful day, with bright sunshine. Lolo was hungry and began to eat the tender grass in big mouthfuls. The keeper sat under a big tree playing the flute, waiting for Lolo to eat her fill.

However, Lolo kept running around, her head down as if she was looking for something. The keeper quietly followed her from behind.

He heard Lolo say, “The wind blows, swaying back and forth, the grass that moves, is powerful.” Chomp, chomp.

After finishing in one spot, she moved to another and said, “The sunlight shines, bright and warm, the grass touched by the sun, smells so good.” Chomp, chomp.

It turned out that Lolo was running around, picking specific grasses to eat. The keeper, lying on the hillside, thought, “This is a very interesting cow. I’ll let her happily eat on her own.”

A butterfly flew over and saw Lolo, saying, “Little cow, the way you run around is very cute, unlike other cows.”

Lolo was delighted and, after thinking for a moment, said, “I am different from other cows. I can draw circles with my tail, and you can fly through them.”

She swished her tail, and the butterfly flew around and through the circles.

After playing and getting tired, Lolo lowered her head and ate a lot of grass, which tasted exceptionally good! She said to the butterfly, “Why don’t you try some too?”

“I never eat such things.”

“Just smell it, it’s fragrant.” Lolo opened her mouth wide and blew a big breath towards the butterfly, who was then blown away.

“Did you blow me away on purpose because you dislike me?” the butterfly asked angrily.

“No, no! Why don’t you look at what else makes me different from other cows?”

“What else is different?”

Hmm! Different… different… Lolo thought hard. “Right! I can produce milk.”

The butterfly had never seen a cow produce milk and was very curious.

“I’m going to produce milk, I’m going to produce milk!” Lolo shouted loudly. The keeper, hearing her, hurried back to the dairy farm and brought a milk bucket.

He started milking her. It was Lolo’s first time producing milk, and it hurt a bit. But with the butterfly watching, she was too embarrassed to show the pain. She closed her eyes, raised her head, and pretended to be comfortable, moo—moo—

White milk flowed out. The butterfly said, “Lolo, you really are a very special cow!”
