Heartbreaking romance

She Will Open the Curtains for Him in Heaven

He lived in the building opposite hers, with their two windows facing each other.

In the past, she would always talk to him by the window, and he would never tire of running over as soon as he heard her voice or standing by his window, watching her move around inside with a look of contentment.

Since she broke up with him, the curtains on that window had never been opened again.

She knew he hated her because she had broken his heart. She had said everything that could hurt him, even saying that she had never loved him. He would never forgive her.

Every night, she still couldn’t help but look at the window opposite, but the sealed curtains were like a thick barrier, not even letting a shadow through.

In this way, without worrying about being discovered yet feeling deeply disappointed, she would gaze all night, her eyes turning red.

Soon after, she got married. On that day, amid the noisy clamor, she still couldn’t help but look up at that window, and the curtains were still closed.

She cried, cried so bitterly that others thought the bride was reluctant to leave her family. She cried uncontrollably as she got into the wedding car. It was a grand procession; she married into a wealthy family in the town.

A year later, she got divorced. Her husband, the factory director, always had women outside, and she was merely the lady of the house to show outsiders.

When she confirmed it, her husband didn’t even lift an eyelid and said coldly, “We could have continued as is, letting you remain the lady of the house, but she has a child now. I’ll give you some money, and we can divorce. After all, you never loved me.”

She let out a cold laugh, her voice bleak as if drifting from another world: “I’ve paid too much for money.” She packed her things, took nothing else, and threw the wedding ring at the door before leaving.

With nowhere else to go, she returned to her former home. Her first reaction was to look at that window. Had he never opened it in over a year? Did he still hate her?

One night, driven by a strong feeling, she secretly went up to his building and to his home.

The door opened, and a man in his thirties stood there, leaving her standing there in shock.

The man asked, “Are you looking for someone?”

She didn’t know how to respond, and suddenly, she was overwhelmed with shock as she looked at that window. The tightly closed curtains, a table beside it, and on the table, a photo of him with a slowly burning incense stick.

The man was his cousin and said he had died in a car accident six months ago. On his deathbed, he asked to have his shrine placed beside that window, forever like that.

Half a month later, her photo was placed next to his, side by side under that window.

She wanted to tell him that a year ago, she had been diagnosed with heart disease and had less than two years to live. That’s why she cruelly chose to leave him. And that husband only coveted her beauty, while she wanted to leave a considerable sum for her poor mother so that at least after she was gone, her mother would be financially secure.

She wanted to tell him that she had always loved only him. She would open the curtains for him in heaven.
