Seven Blind Mice

One day, seven blind mice found something strange by the pond and were startled. They exclaimed loudly, “What is this thing?” and then hurriedly ran back home.

On Monday, the red mouse was the first to come out, wanting to “see” what it was.

“It’s a big pillar,” said the red mouse, but no one believed his words.

On Tuesday, it was the green mouse’s turn, and he was the second to come out.

“It’s a snake,” said the green mouse.

“That’s not it!” said the yellow mouse who came out on Wednesday.

“It’s a spear,” said the yellow mouse, who was the third mouse to come out.

On Thursday, it was the purple mouse’s turn.

“It’s some cliffs,” he said.

On Friday, it was the orange mouse, who was the fifth to come out.

“It’s a fan,” he exclaimed. “I feel like it’s still blowing air!”

The sixth one to come out was the blue mouse.

He went on Saturday and said, “It’s nothing at all, just a rope.”

The other mice disagreed, and they began to argue:

“It’s a snake!”

“It’s a rope!”

“It’s a fan!”

“It’s a cliff!”

Until Sunday, it was the white mouse’s turn to go. He was the seventh mouse to go to the pond.

The white mouse ran from one side of the strange thing to the other, and from the top to the bottom.

“Ha,” said the white mouse, “now I know, this strange thing…”

Is as hard as a pillar.

As soft as a snake.

As wide as a cliff.

As sharp as a fan.

As thick as a rope.

“But, well, when you put it all together, this strange thing is…”

“An elephant!” The red, green, yellow, purple, orange, and blue mice all ran from one side of the elephant to the other, and from the top to the bottom. They finally believed the white mouse’s words. They also understood a lesson.
