School has started
The Forest Kindergarten opened for the new term. Early in the morning, Happy Wolf put on his small backpack and headed to the kindergarten. The place was lively, with many parents bringing their children.
“Long time no see!” As soon as Happy Wolf entered the classroom, he gave a big hug to Fat Pig. “I just saw a bunch of little kids crying at the gate, what a bunch of ‘crybabies’!”
“Haha, yeah! Starting today, we’re the big kids!” Fat Pig said proudly.
There were no lessons on the first day of school, and the children of the Forest Kindergarten’s senior class were having fun, playing and laughing.
At that moment, a little bear with a runny nose appeared at the door of the senior class. “Waaah! I want my mommy! I don’t want to go to kindergarten!”
Happy Wolf hated it when someone cried, so he quickly covered the little bear’s mouth. “You must be from the junior class, right? Don’t cry!”
“Good little bear, look at this!” Fat Pig pulled out his secret weapon—a homemade little cake.
Seeing the cake, the little bear stopped crying, took the cake, and stuffed it into his mouth.
But after finishing the cake, the little bear remembered his mommy and started crying again.
“Oh no! You ate the cake, and you’re still crying!” Happy Wolf frowned. Suddenly, he had a great idea. “Look, what’s this?”
Happy Wolf pulled out his new toy—a limited edition game card—and started playing with the little bear.
But after playing for a while, the little bear put down the card and cried again. Happy Wolf and Fat Pig were at a loss. They had tried both food and toys, but why was this little guy still crying? “Stop crying!” said Happy Wolf. “You’re in kindergarten now, which makes you a big boy, and big boys don’t cry.”
“And kindergarten is really fun. If you don’t believe us, we’ll take you to our ‘secret base,’” Fat Pig added. Hearing there was a “secret base,” the little bear stopped crying and looked at them with wide eyes.
Crawling through a small cave and passing through a little forest, the little bear followed the two older boys to their “secret base”—a small wooden house behind a hill.
The wooden house was built in a big tree, surrounded by lush green leaves. A little red dragonfly appeared before the little bear’s eyes. He wanted to catch it, but almost fell off the tree…
“Watch out!” Luckily, Happy Wolf reacted quickly and caught him.
The dangerous moment just now made the little bear cry again, but this time, he wasn’t crying for his mom. He thought these two older boys were really nice, and being with them was so much fun.
From then on, the little bear was no longer afraid of kindergarten. On the contrary, he thought it was really fun. Every day, he couldn’t wait to say goodbye to his mom and would run to the senior class to find the older boys whenever he had a chance.
So, behind Happy Wolf and Fat Pig, there was always a chubby little bear running around. Although having a “tag-along” sometimes felt a bit restrictive, Happy Wolf thought, who cares—they were the big brothers after all!
