parrot Story: Let Me Hide
Chirp Chirp is a parrot, a mischievous troublemaker who loves to stir things up.
At this moment, it was desperately trying to burrow into Uncle Hippo’s hoodie.
“Uncle Hippo, let me hide!”
“Chirp Chirp, did you get into trouble again?”
“I’ve angered a super scary ‘tough character.’ Its claws are incredibly sharp. Uncle Hippo, you’ve got to protect me!”
“Then be quiet and hide in my hood without making a sound,” said Uncle Hippo, who was carefully exercising to lose weight. Suddenly, Uncle Hippo let out an earth-shattering sneeze, and Chirp Chirp was thrown out.
By chance, Chirp Chirp fell into Mama Kangaroo’s pouch. It was warm and safe there, simply perfect.
“Mama Kangaroo, let me hide!” Chirp Chirp pleaded pitifully.
“Chirp Chirp, did you get into trouble again?”
Chirp Chirp whispered, “I’ve angered a super scary ‘tough character.’ It has a pair of terrifying eyes. If it catches me, I’m done for! Can you help me hide?”
“Chirp Chirp, but… but my voice is a bit loud…”
Oh dear, Mama Kangaroo, your voice isn’t just a bit loud—it’s so loud that even the absent-minded fish far away can hear every word clearly. Hearing the “tough character’s” roar, Chirp Chirp quickly flew away.
Chirp Chirp thought, why not take a trip to the sea? How could there be a fountain on the sea? Chirp Chirp started to sing, and just like that, it turned into a musical fountain. Lost in its singing, Chirp Chirp accidentally dived right into Big Brother Whale’s mouth. Rolling and tumbling, it ended up in the whale’s belly.
Now this was truly safe! Even the “tough character” wouldn’t have a clue that I’d hide in a whale’s belly! And so, Chirp Chirp made a home in Big Brother Whale’s belly, enjoying all the delicious food that Big Brother Whale swallowed. When the sun was shining, Chirp Chirp could even stand on Big Brother Whale’s teeth to bask in the sunlight.
Just as Chirp Chirp was singing proudly, a roar came through: “Chirp Chirp, come out now, I know you’re in there!” It turned out the “tough character” had arrived.
“I’m not coming out, no way!” Chirp Chirp said firmly.
“Come out this instant!” It sounded like there was no room for negotiation.
“No way, I’d rather die than come out!”
“I’ll count to three. If you don’t come out, I’ll have you help Uncle Hippo cure his cold and listen to Mama Kangaroo whisper all day long.”
“That’s too scary! Alright, Mom, I’m coming out right now!”
