Teaches Swimming
Mr. Fat Bean lives on the beautiful Pipi Island, and he is an excellent swimmer.
In the water, Mr. Fat Bean moves like a fish.
He can dive to the bottom like a dolphin and then surface again.
He can swim from Pipi Island to Happy Island in one breath, and then swim back from Happy Island to Pipi Island.
Mr. Fat Bean’s swimming skills are so good that everyone wants to learn from him, and Mr. Fat Bean always readily agrees.
Mr. Fat Bean teaches so well that everyone who comes to learn masters swimming…
Oh no, not everyone. There is one exception, a little boy named Dingdang.
“No, no, I don’t want to go into the water.” Dingdang cried and cried, his tears almost forming a swimming pool.
“Don’t be afraid, watch me!” Mr. Fat Bean said, and with a splash, he jumped into the water.
Mr. Fat Bean swam butterfly stroke, and despite his chubby body, he moved as gracefully as a butterfly in the water.
Then he swam backstroke, looking so relaxed, as if he was resting in the water.
After a while, Mr. Fat Bean switched to freestyle, his arms moving like windmill blades.
Mr. Fat Bean even swam breaststroke, just like a frog in the water, making Dingdang laugh out loud.
But Dingdang still didn’t want to go into the water, he was scared.
“No, no, I don’t want to go into the water,” Dingdang shouted loudly.
Dingdong! Mr. Fat Bean had an idea. He gave Dingdang a “swimming ring” and put it around him.
Now Dingdang wasn’t scared anymore. Wearing the swimming ring, he floated on the water.
Hey, where was that nice smell coming from? Sweet and fragrant, like candy, or maybe like a chocolate bar!
Dingdang sniffed the air, and the fragrance was coming from the swimming ring.
He couldn’t resist and took a lick of the swimming ring. So sweet! It turned out the swimming ring was made of chocolate candy!
Bite after bite, Dingdang nibbled several pieces off the swimming ring. Oh no, the swimming ring stopped working, and Dingdang started to sink.
“Mr. Fat Bean, Mr. Fat Bean, hurry and teach me how to swim!” Dingdang shouted.
“Alright!” Mr. Fat Bean said, and with a splash, he jumped into the water to teach Dingdang how to swim.
Very soon, Dingdang learned to swim.
“It turns out learning to swim isn’t that hard!” Dingdang said proudly, while eating the last piece of the “swimming ring.”
More children came to learn swimming from Mr. Fat Bean, all shouting eagerly, “Mr. Fat Bean, Mr. Fat Bean, I want a swimming ring!”
Mr. Fat Bean thought, maybe he shouldn’t be teaching swimming; maybe he should be selling swimming rings instead!
