moral lessons for Kid: The Little Fox’s Birthday

It was a perfect day for playing.

The little fox walked into the forest and found a big oak tree.

“Wow, what a big tree! If only I had a rope, I could swing on it. But where can I find a rope?”

The little fox busied himself looking for a rope when he spotted the little squirrel running by.

“Hey—do you know where I can find a rope?” the little fox shouted. But the little squirrel acted as if he hadn’t heard and ran farther away.

At the other end of the forest, the little fox saw the back of a big bear and shouted, “Big bear…”

But the big bear didn’t turn around and kept running away, muttering, “Ah, so busy! So busy!”

Even the owl flew away.

“What’s going on? Never mind, I’ll find someone else to play with.”

But the little monkey and the wild boar weren’t home, and even the little rabbit had gone out.

Except for the little field mouse making jam, all the animals were at a secret meeting on the hill.

“What gift should we give?” the little monkey asked everyone.

“Honey!”

“Pinecones!”

“Pretty flowers are the best.”

“How about sweet potatoes?” The animals were chattering and discussing.

The owl spoke up, “Is there something even better that would make the little fox jump with joy?”

The little fox was sulking!

“This is too much; not one of them is playing with me!”

Suddenly, the little fox had an idea.

“Hmph! If they’ve all forgotten me, I’ll make sure they remember me.”

“Yes, that’s it! I’ll dig a trap! When someone falls into it and cries for help, I’ll rescue them. Haha, then they’ll know how important I am.”

As the little fox was digging, hey, where did he go?

A small shadow was getting closer and closer, and it just happened to reach the spot where the little fox was digging.

“Ah!” the little shadow screamed.

The little fox heard the scream and shouted back, “Hey—”

“Isn’t that the little fox’s voice?” the little shadow mumbled.

“Isn’t that the little field mouse’s voice? Did you come to visit my trap so soon?”

“What do you mean? What do you mean by coming so soon?”

The little shadow was indeed the little field mouse.

“No, no, nothing at all. By the way, aren’t you busy too?” the little fox asked the little field mouse.

“I am busy, but what are you doing down there?” the little field mouse asked in return.

“Waiting for you!”

“Waiting for me? Waiting for me in a hole?”

The little field mouse got more and more confused.

“That’s right because you fell into the hole… Huh? Ah! Wait, how did I end up in the hole?”

“This is terrible! Help!”

The little fox screamed in fear.

“You… you wait, I’ll go get everyone to help!”

The little field mouse hurriedly ran away.

What are they up to?

The little fox looked up and saw something long and thin sliding down.

He was delighted to see, “A rope! It’s a rope for a swing!”

The little fox, excitedly shouting and jumping, grabbed the rope, but the rope suddenly started to move upward and almost slipped from the little fox’s hands.

“I’ve been searching for this rope all day; I won’t let you get away!”

The little fox pulled the rope down with all his might.

The rope was running downwards, and the little field mouse, who was first in line outside the hole, almost fell in. The big bear stretched out his legs to hold steady, the little rabbit bumped into the big bear’s back, and the little squirrel had to put on the brakes.

“One, two, three, pull hard!” the owl continued to chant.

Heave-ho! Heave-ho! The rope started moving up.

“You won’t escape, my rope!”

Heave-ho! Heave-ho! The rope was almost at the mouth of the hole!

“I will never let go!”

Slowly, the rope was pulled out of the hole. The little fox, covered in dirt and clinging to the other end of the rope, was pulled out as well.

With the rope, the little fox could finally sit on a swing. As he swung, he asked, “What were you all so busy with?”

“Today is your birthday, and everyone was discussing what to give you!” the little squirrel suddenly realized they hadn’t decided on a gift yet.

But the little fox jumped up and shouted, “So the rope was the gift for me, it’s perfect! Thank you!”

“And also, thank you for saving me!”

As everyone gathered to wish the little fox a “Happy Birthday,” the little monkey was puzzled. He asked quietly, “When did we decide to give a rope?”

“It doesn’t matter; what’s important is that the little fox really likes the gift.” The owl answered.

The big bear pointed to the little fox and said, “And liked it so much that he jumped up!”

It was indeed a joyful day!
