Monster story for kid: Mountain King and Little Bird
The Mountain King was a monster who loved eating small animals.
In winter, the Mountain King once again shouldered his slingshot and went hunting. He didn’t catch a single animal. The Mountain King saw a small fish in the lake because all the other big fish had been eaten by him. The Mountain King also saw a little bird in the woods.
“Forget it, he is too small, let’s not eat him,” thought the Mountain King. He went back home and took out half a loaf of bread from his pocket. The Mountain King started to cry, “How pitiful I am, hungry, cold, and lonely.”
The little bird flew in through a broken window. The little bird was also crying, “I am hungry too, I am cold, and I am lonely.”
The Mountain King said, “Don’t cry, here are some bread crumbs for you.”
The little bird picked up the bread crumbs and flew out. The Mountain King was curious and followed, “Where is the little bird going?” The little bird dropped the bread crumbs into the water.
The Mountain King then understood, “So, the little bird is leaving the bread crumbs for the small fish in the lake.”
The Mountain King ran back home and fetched a big basin. He scooped the small fish into the basin and ran back home.
The Mountain King said, “Would you like to spend the winter with me in my shabby house?”
The little bird and the little fish both said, “Yes.”
The Mountain King started baking bread.
He thought, “From now on, I will share bread with the little bird and the little fish.”
The Mountain King no longer ate small animals, and he no longer felt lonely.
