Moles Story: The Mole’s Star Lamp
Little mole Kaka had always lived in a dark, underground basement. Over time, his eyesight deteriorated. This was inevitable since generations of moles had always lived underground. Kaka thought, “It would be wonderful to have a big, bright house.”
One day, Kaka found an abandoned mouse house. He thought, “This house is so big, besides living in it myself, I could also open a hotel.” However, since this house was underground, moles could live in the dark, but what about other guests who couldn’t see? This made Kaka very distressed.
In the evening, Kaka ran out of the house and sat in the field, racking his brains for a solution. Suddenly, he saw the sky filled with brilliant stars and shouted excitedly, “If only I could pick a star from the sky to make a lamp!” But the stars were so high, how could he reach them? Wanting light so badly, Kaka shed sad tears. At this moment, many small stars flew from a distance.
“Stars! Stars!” Kaka shouted when he saw the little stars, jumping up and down in excitement. He thought that finally, his hotel could have a lamp. The little stars flew over, but when Kaka got closer, he saw they were just fireflies! He cried sadly.
The firefly family, out for a stroll, saw Kaka crying and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Disappointed, Kaka told the firefly family, “You aren’t stars. How can I have a lamp made of stars?”
The firefly mother understood why Kaka was crying. She smiled and said, “Kaka, lamps made of stars do exist!” Kaka’s eyes widened in surprise.
The firefly mother said, “Look, don’t we look like lamps made of stars?” Then she flew in a circle.
Kaka excitedly said, “You really do look like lamps made of stars!”
The firefly mother smiled gently, “When your hotel opens, we will all come to help.”
Kaka clapped his hands happily, “I’m going to have my own hotel! I won’t have to live in darkness anymore!”
Soon, Kaka’s “Star Valley Hotel” opened, and it was packed with guests. It was like a dreamland, with lights everywhere that twinkled like stars.
