Marriage betrayal story
When she married him, she was twenty, still in college, as pure as a clear spring.
He was very wealthy but significantly older, old enough to be her father. She didn’t care about his age or his money; she had once said she would marry him even if he were penniless.
He was deeply moved by this and cherished her like a treasure.
Their wedding was simple and unpretentious. He said at his age, he preferred low-key events, and that marriage was their affair, not a show for others.
She didn’t object; his love was the best gift she could receive, and she cared for nothing else.
On their wedding day, he held her waist, hugging her tightly, and asked, “Darling, would you devote everything to me?”
She nodded as if under a spell; at that moment, she would have handed him her life if he had asked.
After the wedding, she rarely went out, obeyed him in everything, and devoted herself to being a virtuous wife. He treated her exceptionally well, never flirting with others and always taking her to events. He said she was beautiful, and having her with him made him proud.
However, she couldn’t handle alcohol well, getting drunk from just one glass. She tried to avoid drinking, but he insisted, saying it was impolite not to drink at social events. Reluctantly, she drank and ended up intoxicated, feeling as if she were falling apart the next day.
This time, after getting drunk, she felt unusually unwell. She forced herself to the hospital and returned with good news—she was pregnant.
Her smile lingered as she touched her belly, imagining his joy at becoming a father. Lost in thought, she didn’t hear him come in.
“Darling!” He called, curiosity in his voice. “What are you thinking about? I called you several times.”
Unable to contain her smile, she pointed to her belly and slowly said, “You’re going to be a father.”
He was momentarily stunned, showing no joy. Hugging her gently, he said, “I told you, we don’t want children.”
“Why?” She was agitated, tears welling up instantly.
“Why?” His gaze turned cold as he pushed her away. “We don’t even know whose child it is. How could we keep it?”
“What did you say?” She was dumbfounded, unable to believe the words from his mouth.
He quickly composed himself, smiling, “Darling, don’t be angry. I was joking. We don’t want children because we want our time together. Having a child would be too busy and exhausting. I don’t want you to be tired.” He kissed her gently.
Looking at his changing expressions, she couldn’t tell which face was his true self.
He then said even more tenderly, “Look, sweetheart, what did I buy you?”
A diamond necklace sparkled in his hand. He dangled it, saying, “Sweetheart, listen to me. Let’s not have a child yet. Wear this necklace, and I’ll take you out.”
She glanced at it indifferently, shaking her head, “No, I don’t want to go out.”
“What’s wrong with you?” His voice rose.
Biting her lip, she said after a while, “I’m tired, I want to rest early.”
“What do you mean?” He shouted, “I’m telling you, you must go!”
Her eyes filled with tears as she touched her belly. In the end, she gave in. At the party, she pretended to drink, pretending to be passed out.
She secretly opened her eyes a sliver, seeing his evil, degrading smile, and other men at the party, all naked around her. At that moment, she wished she could die.
The next day she woke up with a fleeting, sorrowful smile. Without a word to him, she went to the hospital, then the civil affairs bureau. The marriage certificate was fake; what a despicable man, she cursed.
Finally, she took all the money from his account and boarded a train. She felt the money was her due. How ridiculous, he would surely grieve over the lost money, how pathetic, he wouldn’t shed a tear for her departure.
