Loving someone for heart
The boy was tall and handsome, attracting many girls. Among these admirers were those who were beautiful and gentle, but he found the beautiful ones too ordinary and the gentle ones lacking in personality. None of them could captivate him.
What amused him the most was the presence of an exceptionally unattractive girl among his admirers. With a look of disdain, he told the unattractive girl to her face, “With your looks, you shouldn’t waste your time on me. Time flew by, and soon his friends’ children were starting school, while he remained alone. At this point, he had no specific requirements for a marriage partner; he just wanted someone who would marry him. However, he found that the only girl still interested in him was the one he had considered the ugliest. He turned away, thinking he would rather remain single forever than marry her, especially after the hurtful things he had said to her.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard the girl cry out, “Can you only see someone’s looks and not see a heart that loves you?”
He stopped in his tracks, shocked, and turned around to see the girl’s very unattractive but earnest face. At that moment, he was moved by her courage and persistence. Reflecting on his past mistakes, he sincerely asked the girl, “Would you like to go out with me?” The girl, through her tears, finally smiled.
They began dating, and the boy was amazed to find that apart from her unattractive appearance, the girl had no flaws. She was gentle, generous, knowledgeable, good at housework, and most importantly, she loved him deeply. After spending more time together, perhaps due to the nurturing effect of love, he started to notice that she wasn’t as unattractive as he initially thought. For instance, her dimples when she smiled were actually quite adorable.
Soon, they got married, shocking everyone who knew them. Some even mocked the boy, saying, “Look at you, you ended up choosing the ugliest one!” The boy did not explain nor did he feel upset; instead, he held the girl’s hand and walked proudly through the crowd. He knew he had found the most precious love.
