Love triangle story
Recently, something has been troubling Mr. Dream greatly. Because of it, he has lost his appetite, his sleep has been restless, his speech has become jumbled, and he even loses his sense of direction when crossing the street.
Various signs indicate that Mr. Dream, usually mature, steady, ambitious, and gentle, seems to be ill. This illness is academically known in the literary world as “Emotional Choice Dilemma Syndrome.”
The story begins with Mr. Dream discovering that he seems to have fallen for two girls at the same time, Miss Love and Miss Distant. The prerequisite is that both girls also have a good impression of him, which leaves him in a dilemma about whom to be with.
The reason for Mr. Dream’s dilemma is that both girls are his type, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. He doesn’t want to hurt either of them.
Miss Love is a realistic romantic, beautiful and generous, who loves to dress up, wear the trendiest clothes, and paint her nails in the latest styles. She demands that she always be at the forefront of fashion. She loves watching dramas, enjoys entertainment, is a bit sexy, considerate of others, but also has a bit of inherent vanity typical of girls. She occasionally makes silly mistakes, like getting lost while out walking and calling Mr. Dream for help, or forgetting her wallet and having to bother him for money.
Miss Love has always longed for a warm man like Mr. Dream to share romantic adventures with, pursuing an ideal love together.
Coincidentally, Mr. Dream seems to like girls who appear to need protection, as he believes it is a man’s duty to protect the girl he likes.
In contrast to Miss Love’s delicacy, Miss Distant is independent, confident, optimistic, and cheerful. She always waves the banner of “Long Live Dreams,” embodying a realistic dreamer inside and out. She loves seeking new experiences, reading, writing, enjoying food, and traveling, exuding an artistic aura. Mr. Dream enjoys spending time with Miss Distant because it is always pleasant, and there is never a lack of topics to discuss with her.
However, Miss Distant has one trait that frustrates Mr. Dream: she can suddenly disappear, leaving no one able to grasp her thoughts or predict where her whimsical mind will lead her next.
Once, Mr. Dream went to Miss Distant’s company to find her, only to be told that she had resigned days ago, saying she was exhausted and wanted to take a break. None of her friends knew where she was. A month later, Miss Distant called Mr. Dream to pick her up at the airport.
After waiting for a long time without seeing her, Mr. Dream was about to call her when she suddenly tapped him on the shoulder from behind. He turned to see a significantly tanned Miss Distant with a beaming smile and a set of bright white teeth.
To find his true love, Mr. Dream decided to seek advice from his friends since he couldn’t determine which girl suited him best.
The first to offer advice was Mr. Unreliable: “Whether you like someone or not is relative. If you can’t decide, let them decide. Whoever likes you more will cherish you more, and you just wait for the right one to come to you. You get it!”
Miss Lazy, Mr. Dream’s distant relative, disagreed with Mr. Unreliable: “Whether a girl likes you depends on your actions. Just waiting around will only see them becoming someone else’s girlfriend. You need to figure out their thoughts, but ultimately, it’s about what you want.”
Mr. Dream found Miss Lazy’s advice high-minded but unhelpful, as he was asking what to do, not what he wanted. So, he dismissed her suggestion.
Mr. Hardworking, Mr. Dream’s lifelong buddy, sighed after hearing his story: “Truly liking someone means seeing a light in them and wanting to brighten yourself to match them. Maybe this is just a temporary situation, so work hard, and maybe you’ll find someone better in the future.”
Though Mr. Dream understood Mr. Hardworking’s words, he felt that meeting someone he liked was rare. Instead of waiting for someone better in the future, he should cherish the present because there’s no guarantee that the future will bring a more suitable person.
Despite receiving advice after advice that wasn’t what he wanted, Mr. Dream persisted. He continued to seek opinions from friends, but their answers were either unreliable, unrealistic, or far-fetched.
What troubled Mr. Dream even more was that both Miss Love and Miss Distant had recently expressed their feelings for him more than once. Not wanting to hurt either, he felt increasingly distressed and troubled.
To give both girls an answer, and to give himself an answer, Mr. Dream decided to visit his mentor, Life, hoping for some advice to help him make the right choice and win the heart of his true love.
After hearing Mr. Dream’s concerns, Life smiled and said: “Since both girls are your type and they both like you, to find out who suits you better, you just need to fall seriously ill. The one who truly cares will naturally show it, not just depend on your constant care.”
Mr. Dream found this very reasonable and decided to feign illness to see how Miss Love and Miss Distant would react.
Unexpectedly, during his “critical illness,” Miss Love visited him once and then called the next day asking him to queue for a celebrity’s autograph at a major event.
Miss Distant, upon hearing about Mr. Dream’s situation, only told him to drink more water three times, saying she was too busy to care for him as she was planning a trip abroad.
As one might guess, the story between Mr. Dream, Miss Love, and Miss Distant ended thoroughly because a person who truly loves and cares about you won’t just say it but will show it through actions.
While friends debated heatedly about their situation, the individuals involved had to speak out and declare their feelings in their social circles.
Miss Love said: “I know I’m a delicate girl, so I need a protective guy. I want a relationship that gives me a sense of security.”
Miss Distant said: “I think I’m not suited for a relationship now because I can’t settle down. A too comfortable and happy life would only make me lose myself.”
Mr. Dream said: “Nonsense about security! Nonsense about a comfortable, happy life!”
Thus, time passed, and everyone returned to their life paths, becoming strangers to each other.
A year later, social media buzzed again, this time with news of Miss Love preparing to marry Mr. Obedient, who was always available and reliable. He was the type Miss Love had always wanted and liked.
Miss Distant seemed in no hurry about love, having traveled many places alone, always believing that even on her own, she could live a wonderful life. “The world is so big,” she said, “I still want to see more of it!”
As for Mr. Dream? He continued living his life.
But this time, Mr. Dream vowed: “I am willing to wait. I can wait. One day, I will meet her, the one who truly loves me and is willing to travel with me.”
Yes, I believe that too.
