Little Raindrop Misses Mom

Little Raindrop had been staying in the embrace of Cloud Mama for a long, long time. It really wanted to go and see other places. But every time, Cloud Mama wouldn’t let it go because Little Raindrop was too small. Mama didn’t feel safe letting it fly on its own. So, Little Raindrop exercised every day, and finally, it became a strong little raindrop.

Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, the mischievous little raindrops left the embrace of Cloud Mama, one by one, jumping onto the trees, landing on rooftops, and squeezing into the bushes.

It treated its little sister’s umbrella like a slide, but it couldn’t stand steady and rolled down with a tumble.

It treated the clear pond like a diving pool and jumped in with a splash, leaving rippling circles on the surface.

It loved to hide in the dirt pits by the roadside. When car wheels rolled by, it jumped up high, splashing mud all over the passersby.

It enjoyed playing hide-and-seek on the soft sand, and in the blink of an eye, it disappeared.

Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, the mischievous little raindrops sang as they disappeared without a trace.

Little Raindrop was so playful, running back and forth in Cloud Mama’s arms every day. She saw the flowers and trees on the ground and longed to go down.

“Oh! It’s so cold!” Little Raindrop and her companions huddled together.

How strange! Why was Little Raindrop getting bigger?

Little Raindrop grew bigger and bigger until she finally fell out of her mama’s embrace.

She shook hands with the tree, leaving behind some water for it, then moved on.

She arrived at the bushes, and the grass happily said, “You’ve come, how wonderful! Look, Grandpa Earth is so thirsty that his lips are cracked.”

Little Raindrop saw the children on the street jumping and playing, and she really wanted to run over and join them.

But there wasn’t enough time. Little Raindrop slipped from the grass into the nearby river and disappeared.

In the river, Little Raindrop thought of Cloud Mama in the sky and cried, “Waah, waah!”

The Sun Grandpa came. He stretched out his warm, big hand and brought Little Raindrop back home.
