Little Raindrop Misses Her Mom
Little Raindrop stayed in the embrace of her cloud mother for a very, very long time. She wanted so much to see other places. But every time, her cloud mother wouldn’t allow it because Little Raindrop was too small. Her mom was not comfortable letting her fly on her own. So, Little Raindrop exercised every day, and finally, she became a strong little raindrop.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, the playful raindrops left the embrace of their cloud mother, jumping one by one onto the trees, falling onto the rooftops, and squeezing into the grass.
She treated her sister’s umbrella as a slide but couldn’t stand still and rolled down clumsily.
She treated the clear pond as a diving pool, jumping in and leaving ripples on the water surface.
She liked to hide in the roadside puddles. When the car wheels rolled over, she would jump high and splash mud all over the passersby.
She loved playing hide and seek on the soft beach, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, where did the mischievous little raindrop go while singing her song?
The little raindrop was indeed naughty, running around in the embrace of her cloud mother every day. She saw the flowers and trees on the ground and really wanted to go down.
Oh! It’s so cold! The little raindrop and her friends huddled together.
How strange! Why did the little raindrop become bigger?
The little raindrop grew bigger and bigger, and finally, she fell from her mother’s embrace.
She shook hands with the trees, left some water for them, and then moved on.
She then reached the grass. The grass happily said, “You’re here, that’s great! Look, Grandpa Earth is so thirsty his lips are cracked.”
Little Raindrop saw the children on the street jumping and playing, and she wanted to run over and play with them.
But there wasn’t enough time. Little Raindrop slid down the grass and fell into a nearby stream, disappearing.
In the stream, Little Raindrop thought of her cloud mother in the sky. Swish, swish, she began to cry.
Grandpa Sun arrived and extended his warm, big hand, bringing Little Raindrop back home.
