Little Chubby Pig Who Loves to Procrastinate
Little Chubby Pig has a bad habit: he always drags his feet and procrastinates in whatever he does. His catchphrase is, “I’ll do it later.”
After school in the afternoon, all the other students were diligently doing their homework. Little Chubby Pig thought to himself, “There isn’t much homework; why are they in such a hurry? I’ll do it later.” So, he dug out a big sweet potato from his bag, rubbed off the dirt on the skin, and started munching on it with a loud crunch.
The quick-footed Little Monkey and Little White Rabbit had already finished their homework and ran up to the podium, shouting, “Let’s go, let’s head to the playground to play soccer!”
As soon as Little Chubby Pig heard there was going to be soccer, he immediately perked up. Little Chubby Pig loved playing soccer. He tossed the half-eaten sweet potato onto his desk and thought, “I’ll go play soccer first and finish eating it later!”
Little Chubby Pig played his heart out on the soccer field and didn’t head home until it was dark. By the time he got home, he was utterly exhausted. Even though his parents urged him repeatedly, he just shoveled a few bites of food into his mouth and then dove under his covers, snoring away.
In the middle of the night, Little Chubby Pig dreamed that Teacher Magpie was checking homework, and he jolted awake in a fright. Remembering that he hadn’t done any of his homework, he became both anxious and angry. He thought about staying up late to finish it, but he had left his schoolbag in the classroom, so no matter how anxious he was now, it was useless! Little Chubby Pig thought, “Tomorrow morning, I must get to school early and try to finish my homework before class starts.”
Little Chubby Pig had a good plan, but when he woke up, it was already broad daylight. He repeatedly blamed his mother for not waking him up earlier.
Little Chubby Pig didn’t even have time for breakfast. By the time he arrived at school, panting heavily, Teacher Magpie was already standing at the podium, and she looked very unhappy. It turned out that Little Chubby Pig’s half-eaten sweet potato had attracted a whole bunch of ants onto his desk.
Little Chubby Pig thought to himself, “Procrastination really is a killer! There’s no escaping a good scolding later!”
