Little alligator and little chicken

What? Little crocodile Dangdang actually made friends with a little chick? All the crocodiles living in Crocodile River were extremely surprised! This was because the food in Crocodile River was becoming scarcer and scarcer, and they often had to go to bed hungry.

They gathered at Dangdang’s door, angrily shouting, “Dangdang is such a big fool!” Even Dangdang’s dad said, “Son, you’re really foolish, not eating a meal that’s right at your mouth! Do you know? For us crocodiles, chicken meat is the most nutritious delicacy!”

Dangdang actually didn’t know that little chicks could be eaten. He thought to himself, “No wonder when I’m with the little chick, my stomach keeps growling and saliva keeps dripping from my mouth.”

“Aren’t you supposed to meet the little chick today?” Dangdang’s mom said. “Today, you must eat her and nourish yourself, okay?” Dangdang nodded.

Dangdang was indeed very hungry, and he slowly headed toward the grass field. From afar, he could see the little chick running toward him, chirping.

“Hey, big friend, how are you?” The little chick came right up to Dangdang, standing right by his mouth.

Dangdang didn’t dare open his mouth to speak. As soon as he saw the little chick, he remembered their walks together, playing games, telling stories, and sharing jokes. He immediately changed his mind and decided not to eat the chick. But he heard his stomach growling and was afraid that if he opened his mouth, he might swallow the little chick.

The little chick asked again, “Have you had breakfast? Are you feeling unwell?” Dangdang didn’t dare open his mouth to speak. He could feel the saliva dripping from the corner of his mouth.

The little chick was getting a bit upset and asked even louder, “Hey, what’s wrong with you? I’m asking you a question, how can you just ignore me?” Dangdang still didn’t dare open his mouth. He could hear his teeth grinding together annoyingly.

Now the little chick was really angry. He pecked Dangdang hard with his sharp little beak and said, “Rude fellow, I’m never playing with you again!” With that, he walked away.

When the little chick had run out of sight, Dangdang slowly turned around and walked back to Crocodile River. “You’ve got it wrong, dear little one,” Dangdang thought as he walked, “I’m not a rude fellow, I’m just a fool who made friends with a chick.”
