Lion and Mouse Story: The Lion and the Little Mouse
One day, a little mouse was playing hide and seek with its friends. Unknowingly, the mouse climbed onto the nose of a large lion, who was sound asleep. The sudden disturbance woke the lion.
The lion opened its eyes and firmly caught the little mouse in its paw. The mouse pleaded, “Dear King Lion, please let me go! If you spare me, I promise I will repay you someday.”
Hearing this, the lion laughed heartily, “I’m so big, and you’re so small. How could I ever need your help?” After saying this, the lion let the mouse go.
A few days later, while the lion was sleeping, it was trapped by a net set by hunters. The lion struggled with all its might but couldn’t break free. It cried out loudly, “Help! Help, someone save me!”
The little mouse happened to be passing by. When it saw that the lion was trapped, it said to the lion, “Don’t worry, you spared me last time, so now I’ll save you.”
The lion said, “You’re so small; how can you save me?”
The little mouse replied, “Don’t underestimate me!” Saying this, it used its sharp teeth to gnaw through the ropes of the net.
The lion was quickly freed and gratefully said to the little mouse, “Thank you for saving me. Let’s be best friends forever!”
From then on, the big lion and the little mouse became good friends and often played together.
