Kindergarten story: The Little Airplane on the Rainbow
The kindergarten got a new slide! As soon as Dudu walked in, he saw it. He quickly ran over and stood in front of the new slide, looking at it carefully. This slide was really beautiful. It was even taller than the old elephant slide, with curved ends, and covered with lots of colorful patterns, just like a rainbow. “This is awesome, this is awesome,” Dudu jumped up and down, saying, “I’m going to play on this rainbow slide every day from now on.”
He waited and waited, and after breakfast and singing songs, the teacher finally said it was time to go outside and play. “Can we play on the new slide?” Dudu asked loudly. “Of course you can. But you all need to be safe.” Before the teacher could finish, Dudu was already the first to run outside.
It was time to play on the slide. Dudu ran the fastest and climbed up in no time. He stood up and said to the children behind him, “Look, look, I’m the first!” Then, Dudu sat on the slide, holding onto both sides, and slid down quickly. “Wow, this is so much fun!” Dudu kept climbing up and sliding down, feeling so happy! Even when the teacher called the children back to the classroom, he didn’t hear.
“This slide is so long, it’s just like a runway,” Dudu suddenly remembered the airport he had seen on TV. “I want to be a little airplane and fly here.” Dudu climbed to the top of the slide, facing down, and lay on his stomach. He put both hands behind him, then kicked his legs hard, shouting, “I’m flying down from the rainbow!”
Oh no, oh no! This isn’t good! Dudu’s head was facing down, and he suddenly felt a bit dizzy. The little airplane was about to hit the ground, and Dudu closed his eyes in fear, shouting, “Help me, help me! The little airplane is going to crash!”
Just then, Dudu felt himself stop. A pair of hands had caught his head from below. He opened his eyes and saw that it was the teacher standing in front of the slide.
“Dudu, you can’t play on the slide like this; it’s too dangerous. If your head hit the ground, you’d have to go to the hospital.” “I wanted to pretend to be a little airplane,” Dudu said, lowering his head.
“Oh, how about this: later, I’ll help you make a pair of little wings to wear, and then you can pretend to be a little airplane.” The teacher gently patted Dudu’s little head and said, “When we play on the slide, we must be safe. We need to line up properly when climbing up, not push or shove. When sitting on the slide, hold onto both sides tightly, and make sure there are no other children in front of you. That way, you can have fun safely.” “I understand,” Dudu nodded.
The teacher took Dudu back into the classroom, took out a piece of colored paper, and made two big wings, helping Dudu wear them on his back.
Look! Dudu was having so much fun. He and the other children ran around the yard, chased each other, and flapped the little wings on his back as if he were really a little airplane.
