Kids Story About Lifeguards: Big Wolf, I Really Like You
Big Wolf is a lifeguard by the sea. If he spots someone drowning, he’ll jump into the water without hesitation and rescue them, bringing them safely back to shore.

Flower Dog Wangzai admires Big Wolf, but he never dares to approach him because Big Wolf is usually very serious. He always keeps a straight face, never looking around, and walks with a brisk pace. The way he carries himself, with his head held high and chest out, makes it seem like no one else matters to him.
Sometimes, Wangzai secretly tries to imitate Big Wolf, walking with his head held high and ignoring everyone. But before long, he can’t help but burst into laughter, jumping and rolling around on the path full of wildflowers.

One day, Wangzai found a picture of Big Wolf. He was thrilled and kept the picture with him every day, taking it out to look at whenever he had a chance.
One day, while Wangzai was sitting by the sea looking at Big Wolf’s picture and trying to imitate his mighty stance, he suddenly felt a presence behind him. He turned around, and oh no, it was Big Wolf!

Big Wolf frowned, snatched the picture away, and walked off.
Wangzai plopped down on the ground. “It’s over, it’s over. Big Wolf is mad. What should I do?”
Wangzai stood up and asked the little fish in the water, “Is Big Wolf really mad? He must be going to get a stick to hit me. If I jump into the sea, that won’t work either. Big Wolf is a lifeguard after all!”
Before Wangzai could figure out what to do, he saw Big Wolf coming back from a distance, and he ran away in fear.
Big Wolf chased after him, shouting, “Stop! Stop right there!”
In the end, Wangzai got so tired he couldn’t run anymore. He had no choice but to stop, bracing himself for a beating. But to his surprise, Big Wolf suddenly extended his hand and handed him a picture, saying, “Here you go.”
Wow, it was such a handsome picture of Big Wolf! Wangzai could hardly believe it was real.

“This one is much better. The other picture made my nose look crooked.” Big Wolf had a bit of a smile on his face. “Do you like it?”
“Yes, I love it! It’s amazing!” Wangzai quickly put the picture in his pocket.
“When I took the picture away earlier, what were you trying to say?” Big Wolf asked.
“I was trying to say, I… I really like you.”
Big Wolf smiled bashfully. “I like you too, Wangzai. You’re smart and lively, and your spotted fur is really pretty.”
Wangzai hadn’t expected anyone to like him too. He asked, “Really? So, would you like to be my friend?”

“Of course! I’m at the beach every day, so come play anytime,” Big Wolf replied.
From then on, Wangzai and Big Wolf became good friends. Wangzai even started learning to swim from Big Wolf because he wanted to become a lifeguard just like him.
