Invisible Power

A group of small animals went to the big forest to pick mushrooms. On the way, they encountered a river; the bridge had been washed away by a flood, and since none of them could swim, they were stuck, anxiously pacing back and forth.

At this moment, an elephant came by and said kindly, “Let me help you!”

With that, it used its long trunk to knock down a tree on the riverbank, which conveniently fell across the river, forming a makeshift bridge.

The small animals crossed the bridge one after another, all saying in unison, “Thank you, Uncle Elephant!”

A giraffe saw this and walked over to the elephant, saying, “You did a good deed, but you also did something wrong. This tree will slowly die. Let’s replant it.”

The elephant then used its trunk to stand the tree back up. The giraffe covered the roots with soil, stomped it down with its hooves, and then watered it.

The elephant worriedly said, “How will the small animals cross the river when they come back?”

The giraffe replied, “I’ll have a way by then!”

In the evening, the small animals returned from picking mushrooms. The giraffe, waiting by the riverbank, stretched its long neck to the other side, forming a beautifully patterned bridge.

The small animals carefully walked across, afraid of hurting the giraffe.

The elephant, watching from afar, was very moved.

After the giraffe left, the elephant gathered some dead trees and wooden planks and built a sturdy and wide bridge over the river.
