Inspirational story for kids: The Flying Paper Nose
“Wrong way! Wrong way! Hahaha…”
In the morning, a group of children were playing the pin-the-nose game. After being blindfolded, no one could pin the nose correctly. Look, one nose ended up on a chin, another on a forehead, and a little boy even stuck the paper nose upside down.
“Who ever heard of nostrils facing up?” the paper nose muttered, feeling embarrassed.
Just then, a gust of wind blew by, and the paper nose was whisked away.
The paper nose flew and flew until it came across an elephant by the river. So it floated down and landed on the elephant’s forehead.
“Elephant, Elephant, can I be your nose?” the paper nose asked.
“But I already have a nose!” the elephant said, raising its long trunk. “Look, my nose is like a water hose.”
“Oh, you have a nose already!” the paper nose said disappointedly, then flew away.
The paper nose flew and flew until it encountered a wild boar in the woods. So it floated down and landed on the wild boar’s forehead.
“Wild Boar, Wild Boar, can I be your nose?” the paper nose asked.
“But I already have a nose!” the wild boar said, pouting. “Look, my nose is like a lotus root.”
“Oh, you have a nose too!” the paper nose said disappointedly, then flew away.
The paper nose flew and flew until it came across a rooster on a haystack. So it floated down and landed on the rooster’s forehead.
“Rooster, Rooster, can I be your nose?” the paper nose asked.
“But I already have a nose!” the rooster said, rolling its eyes and holding its head high. “Look, my nose is here, and it’s as small as a pinhole.”
“You have a nose too, sorry!” the paper nose said disappointedly, then flew away.
The paper nose flew and flew until it reached the ocean. At that moment, a giant whale surfaced from the water. The paper nose floated down and landed on the whale’s back.
“Whale, Whale, can I be your nose?” the paper nose asked.
“But I already have a nose!” the whale said, blowing a spray of water. “Look, my nose is like a fountain, spraying water.”
The paper nose flew here and there but still couldn’t find a suitable place.
“It seems I’m just unnecessary!” the paper nose said, extremely disappointed.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew, and the paper nose was swept away again.
No one knows how long it flew, but eventually, the wind stopped, and the paper nose landed with a “thud” on a tree trunk.
“Achoo!” The tree sneezed. “Hmm, these ants crawling all over my face are so annoying. Having a nose is great! Now I can sneeze comfortably!” the tree said happily.
Hearing this, the paper nose was overjoyed. “Ah, I finally found my home!”
The paper nose flew and flew, and finally found its place on the tree. In reality, everyone has their own place and purpose. As long as we do our best and keep moving forward, we will find where we truly belong.
