“Hey, it’s raining again!” Long-Eared Rabbit said helplessly, pushing open the window.
“This is no fun at all!” Little Bear turned back after just stepping out of his house.
“It must be some bad guy who poked a hole in the sky!” Little Flower Dog pouted, looked at the sky, and retreated back inside.
It kept raining, and since they couldn’t go outside to play, everyone was feeling quite bored.
“Hey, I have a good idea!” Pipi Monkey said as he trotted through the mud, going from house to house.
Soon, everyone gathered around to hear Pipi Monkey’s good idea.
“Let’s install a switch for the sky,” Pipi Monkey said.
“Will that work?” Little Bear asked.
“Of course it will! If faucets can control water with a switch, we can control the weather with a switch,” Pipi Monkey explained.
Everyone thought he made sense, so under Pipi Monkey’s lead, they stacked car wheels, filled them with plastic foam, and then inserted an open umbrella in the middle. In this way, they made a giant switch.
But where to install it? Everyone looked at this giant contraption, unsure of what to do.
“Let’s move it to the top of the mountain! It’s closest to the sky there!” Pipi Monkey said.
So Elephant, Giraffe, Little Dog, Little Monkey, and Little Mouse all came along. They hoisted and heaved the switch up the mountain.
Finally reaching the top, they stopped to catch their breath, but the switch rolled down into a deep valley, embedding itself there.
The huge noise woke up the Sun, who was sleeping. He got up and, seeing that giant floral button, laughed.
When the sun came out, everyone jumped for joy and shouted, “Wow, it worked!”
To this day, the sun still doesn’t know that the button was meant to be a switch for the sky.
