House Goes Wandering
This was a little empty house, living in a small town, spending every day in the same routine.
In the morning, vendors passed by its door shouting their wares, and the sound of bicycle bells and car horns passed through its windows. In the afternoon, a few sparrows perched on its eaves, chirping for a long time. In the evening, the dim streetlight on the corner accompanied it slowly to sleep.
Although it was just a small house, it always had a wish: to hear the echoes in the valleys, to see the hermit crabs in the sea, to stay in the bustling metropolis… The world was so big, and it wanted to see it.
One night, the little house drooped its head, thought for a long time, and loudly said, “I want to wander.”
“What are you talking about?” coughed the old house next door, “I’m old, and I can’t withstand your fussing.”
“Sorry, I’m going to wander… oh no, to move. I’ll be as careful as possible,” the little house said gently, “I will miss you, Grandpa House.”
“Little house, you must be careful, after all, it’s really inconvenient for a house to move,” the streetlight on the corner said with some concern upon hearing the little house was moving.
“Thank you for the reminder, I will miss you too,” the little house said goodbye to the streetlight and officially set off.
The little house passed through many places, meeting many people on its journey. When the weather was bad, it sheltered many travelers, protecting them from the wind and rain. When the weather was good, it opened all its doors and windows, letting the wind freely shuttle through its empty rooms.
One day, the little house met a special traveler—A Lan.
A Lan extended an invitation: “Hello, I have traveled to many places, and you are the most special house I’ve seen. Can I move in and be friends with you?”
Ah, all these years the little house had always been empty. Although many people came and went, no one had ever truly lived inside the little house. This was such a special idea, and finally, the little house accepted A Lan’s invitation.
On the first day, A Lan bought some flowers to decorate the little house’s bedroom.
On the second day, A Lan bought some books and put them in the little house’s bookshelf.
On the third day, A Lan bought some simple food and cooked many warm dishes in the little house’s kitchen.
…
By the tenth day, the little house was almost fully decorated, and A Lan had a new idea: “It’s such a pity that such a great house is only for me. Can I invite some friends over to stay?”
Ah, more friends? The little house had never thought of this. It shyly nodded, and its glass windows trembled. Actually, it liked being cleaned up and also enjoyed the lively atmosphere of friends being together. In that case, even without wandering, everyday life would be very different!
Thus, the little house transformed into a “Little House Hotel.”
This time, the little house no longer wanted to wander. It planned to settle down with A Lan. Now, the little house acted like a host, welcoming travelers and wanderers from all over the world. Everyone could pay their rent with their own stories, and everyone could bring a different view.
Now, many people book the little house online, sometimes needing to book two to three months in advance. After all, staying in a once-wandering house is such a wonderful experience!
