the puzzle story for children
One morning, a little mouse hopped to the riverbank and sat down to wait for her good friend.
The dragonflies were dancing gracefully among the bushes.
The tadpoles were splashing around in the shallow water. The river gently lapped against the stones.
“Hello,” said the little rabbit, “what are you doing?”
“I’m waiting for my good friend,” the little mouse replied.
“Can I wait with you?” the little rabbit asked.
The butterflies flapped their wings in the breeze, the bees buzzed among the daisies, and the ants hurried through the grass.
“Oh, it’s you!” the little frog laughed, “what are you doing here?”
“We’re waiting for the little mouse’s good friend,” said the little rabbit.
“The weather is really nice today,” the little frog smiled, “can I wait with you?”
Sunlight sparkled, falling on the trees. The caterpillar lazily munched on a leaf. A white cloud slowly drifted across the blue sky.
“What a beautiful day!” said the little turtle. “Little frog, do you want to go swimming?”
“Not today,” the little frog replied, “we’re waiting for…”
“We’re waiting for the little mouse’s good friend!” the little rabbit interrupted.
“Oh, I see,” said the little turtle.
The riverbank was very quiet. The little turtle took out his lunch and shared it with everyone. Everyone ate until they were full, even the crumbs were eaten clean by the little ducks!
“Yum! That was delicious!” the little rabbit said contentedly.
“Fantastic!” mumbled the little frog.
“Little mouse, you picked a great spot to wait for someone!” said the little turtle.
“Yes, indeed!” said the little mouse.
The shadows slowly grew longer. The fireflies twinkled like little stars.
The little mouse stood up, stretched long, and said, “Well, I have to go home now!”
“Hey, don’t give up!” shouted the little rabbit.
“I’m sure they’ll be here soon!” said the little frog.
“Just wait a little longer,” nodded the little turtle, “besides, we can all wait with you!”
“Wait for who?” asked the little mouse.
“Of course, we’re waiting for your good friend!” answered the little rabbit.
“But you’re already here!” smiled the little mouse. “Little rabbit… little frog… little turtle… who could be better friends than you?”
The little rabbit, little frog, and little turtle’s faces slowly turned red.
“Today was really special!” said the little rabbit.
“Let’s come back and wait again tomorrow!” said the little frog with a smile.
“Bring apples and cake,” added the little turtle.
“Then… see you tomorrow!” the little mouse happily waved and hopped back home.
