Fun stories for kids about time: Old Wolf, Old Wolf, What Time Is It?
It was 7 o’clock in the morning, and twenty-four little birds woke up Mr. Old Wolf.
They chirped noisily, “Old Wolf, Old Wolf, what time is it?”
Mr. Old Wolf yawned and said, “It’s time to eat blackbird pie!”
At nine o’clock, a little girl in a Little Red Riding Hood cape was delivering letters.
Mr. Old Wolf thought, “There should be a letter for me!” He quickly ran to the door.
Unfortunately, there was no letter for Mr. Old Wolf, not even a postcard!
Poor Mr. Old Wolf!
At ten o’clock, Mr. Old Wolf was shaving, swish, swish, swish, such a handsome chin! The phone rang.
“Hoo hoo hoo! Loo loo loo! Ha ha ha!” Noisy voices came from the other end of the line.
After a while, someone finally asked, “Old Wolf, Old Wolf, what time is it?” “It’s you little rascals again!” Mr. Old Wolf said angrily, “It’s time to buy a watch, you little fat pig! Goodbye!” Then he hung up the phone.
At twelve o’clock, it was exactly noon.
Mr. Old Wolf thought, “Hmm, it’s time for me to go shopping.” As soon as he got halfway there, it started to rain. Mr. Old Wolf thought, “Hmm, it’s time for me to buy an umbrella instead.”
At one o’clock in the afternoon.
Ding! A mouse climbed onto the big clock. The little mouse squeaked, “Old Wolf, Old Wolf, what time is it?”
But Mr. Old Wolf didn’t answer; he had already left the house.
At three o’clock, Mr. Old Wolf arrived at the cake shop. The baker said, “Mr. Old Wolf, please be patient and wait a moment.”
He waited until three o’clock, a whole hour. Mr. Old Wolf was tired and very, very hungry. He panted heavily as he walked home…
Whoosh! Swoosh! Mr. Old Wolf’s friends hurried past him.
“We’re running late, we’re running late, Mr. Old Wolf!” they shouted, “We’re going to be late!”
At four o’clock.
Mr. Old Wolf took a shortcut home. The shade under the trees was so cool and comfortable!
“Well, I’ll just take a nap here,” Mr. Old Wolf said to himself. He was just dozing off when suddenly… Hey! Toot, toot, oh-ho! Mr. Old Wolf opened his eyes wide. It was the tabby cat playing the violin.
“Five o’clock, time to wake up, Mr. Old Wolf,” said the tabby cat.
Mr. Old Wolf jumped up. “Oh my goodness!” he exclaimed, “It’s so late already! Sorry, sorry, I have to hurry home!” He then dashed off.
At six o’clock.
Dong! The big clock at Mr. Old Wolf’s house struck. Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong!
“Shh! Shh—” Mr. Old Wolf’s friends whispered to each other.
Huff, puff, Mr. Old Wolf saw the entrance to his house in front of him. He climbed the steps, pulled the latch, and slowly pushed the door open…
“Old Wolf, Old Wolf, what time is it?” The birthday party had begun!
They sang, they danced, and Mr. Old Wolf’s friends played until very, very late before happily going home.
Mr. Old Wolf brushed his teeth and got under the covers.
The stars in the sky asked, “Old Wolf, Old Wolf, what time is it?” But Mr. Old Wolf didn’t answer because he was already fast asleep!
