Fun bear adventure for kid: Big Bear and Little Bear
In the forest, Little Bear called out from outside Big Bear’s dark cave, “Wake up, wake up!”
Big Bear yawned and rubbed his sleepy eyes. He lumbered out into the sunlight. “Hmm,” he took a deep breath and said, “what smells so good?”
“The smell of summer blackberries is in the air,” Little Bear said. “There are fresh, juicy blackberries all over the grove. Look, I brought a basket! Do you want to go berry picking with me?”
Big Bear smacked his lips. “Yes, really,” he said happily. He rubbed his furry big belly and roared, “Let’s go to the grove!”
Big Bear jumped into the forest. His body brushed against tall trees and leafy bushes. He climbed up high hills and crossed ridges.
“Wait for me! Wait for me!” Little Bear called out as he climbed the hills behind him. As Little Bear climbed the rugged mountain path, he either tripped over big rocks or stumbled over small stones.
Big Bear looked down from the top of the hill. “Little Bear, you’re too small to keep up with me,” he called out. “I can’t wait for you!”
Big Bear ran ahead. He stomped along the rocky road and crossed shaky bridges. He waded through a wide, babbling brook.
“Wait for me! Wait for me!” Little Bear called out, splashing in the brook far behind Big Bear. The cool water reached Little Bear’s belly, soaking his furry body. As he stumbled across the brook, he shivered from the cold.
Big Bear looked back at the bank of the brook. “Little Bear, you’re too small to keep up with me!” he called out. “I can’t wait for you!”
Big Bear leaped ahead. He dashed down the forest path and green slopes. Along the way, he pushed through thick forest bushes and thickets.
“Wait for me! Wait for me!” Little Bear called out as he pushed through the hedges, squeezing through them. As Little Bear pushed through the branches, the prickly evergreen plants scratched his body.
Big Bear looked back at the hedge. “Little Bear, you’re too small!” Big Bear sniffed the sweet scent of blackberries. The grove was just around the corner! Big Bear ran forward as fast as he could. However, when he saw the fence, it was too late. Bang! He crashed into the fence.
“Ouch!” Big Bear groaned, rubbing his bruised nose. “How can I get those sweet blackberries now?”
Little Bear caught up, panting. “Look, Big Bear! There’s a hole in the fence here!”
Big Bear tried hard to squeeze through the small hole. But it was no use. “This hole is too small,” he said gloomily.
“Maybe you’re too big,” Little Bear said. He jumped to the hole and squeezed through. Little Bear wasted no time and immediately started picking the ripe summer berries.
“Mm, these berries taste so good!” he said, smacking his lips.
Big Bear turned to leave. “Enjoy yourself, Little Bear,” he said dejectedly.
“Don’t go,” Little Bear said. “When I pick a basket full of blackberries, I’ll come out and share them with you. I promise this basket of blackberries will be enough for both of us hungry bears.”
Big Bear watched as Little Bear picked the plump, juicy, delicious blackberries and filled the basket. When the basket was as full as it could be, Little Bear jumped out of the hole in the fence and came to Big Bear’s side.
Big Bear smiled. “Little Bear,” he said, “I’m so lucky to have a friend like you. You’re neither too small nor too big. You’re just the right size.”
