Frog Stories: The Proud Little Frog
In a pond lived a little frog, dressed in a bright green outfit with big, round eyes. All day long, he croaked incessantly: “Not only am I beautiful, but I also have a great voice. In this pond, no one can compare to me!”
One day, the little frog went to visit his grandmother and encountered a crab on the way.
Seeing the crab walking sideways, he laughed and said, “Brother Crab, you have eight legs, but you can’t run as fast as I can with my four legs. Stop walking sideways!”
The crab turned red with anger and said, “We walk sideways because of our body structure. Don’t you understand that?”
The little frog didn’t bother to respond and continued on his way.
After a while, the little frog met a toad.
Seeing the toad’s bumpy skin and earthy clothes, he laughed and said, “Brother Toad, why are you so dirty?”
The toad rolled his eyes and said coldly, “Our skin is camouflage, making it hard for pests to spot us!”
The little frog didn’t bother to respond again and continued on his way.
When he reached his grandmother’s house, the little frog told her about his encounters on the road. His grandmother laughed and said, “My child, you’re the one making a fool of yourself! You need to learn more and become a knowledgeable frog.”
The little frog lowered his head in shame, and from then on, he was never proud again.
