family love story for kids: Qiuqiu Looks for a Mother
Qiuqiu is a little bird, living a lonely life. He really wants a mother, but who could be his mother?
One day, he set out to find a mother.
The first one Qiuqiu met was Mrs. Giraffe.
“Oh, Mrs. Giraffe!” he shouted, “You’re yellow like me! Are you my mother?”
“I’m really sorry,” Mrs. Giraffe sighed, “but I don’t have wings like you.”
Next, Qiuqiu met Mrs. Penguin.
“Oh, Mrs. Penguin!” he shouted, “You have wings like me! Are you my mother?”
“I’m really sorry,” Mrs. Penguin sighed, “but I don’t have a chubby face like you.”
Later, Qiuqiu met Mrs. Walrus.
“Oh, Mrs. Walrus!” he shouted, “You have a chubby face like me! Are you my mother?”
“Hmph, look,” Mrs. Walrus grumbled impatiently, “I don’t have striped legs like you, so stop bothering me!”
No matter where he went, he couldn’t find anyone who looked exactly like him.
When Qiuqiu saw Mrs. Bear picking apples, he knew right away she couldn’t be his mother. Mrs. Bear didn’t look anything like him at all.
Qiuqiu was so sad, he began to cry. “Mother, Mother! I want a mother!”
Mrs. Bear quickly ran over to see what was wrong.
After hearing Qiuqiu’s story, she sighed and said, “Oh, dear, if you had a mother, what would she do for you?”
“Well, I’m sure she would hug me,” Qiuqiu sobbed.
“Like this?” Mrs. Bear asked, as she hugged Qiuqiu tightly in her arms.
“Yes… I’m sure she would give me a kiss,” Qiuqiu said.
“Like this?” Mrs. Bear asked, as she lifted Qiuqiu up and gave him a big kiss.
“Yes… I’m sure she would sing and dance with me to make me happy,” Qiuqiu said.
“Like this?” Mrs. Bear asked. Then they sang and danced together.
After resting, Mrs. Bear turned to Qiuqiu and said, “Qiuqiu, maybe I could be your mother.”
“You?” Qiuqiu exclaimed.
“But your fur isn’t yellow. You don’t have wings like mine, a chubby face, or striped legs!”
“Oh my goodness!” Mrs. Bear said, “That would make me look very funny!”
Qiuqiu thought that would look funny too.
“Alright then,” Mrs. Bear said, “my children are waiting for me at home. How about we go have some apple pie, Qiuqiu?”
Qiuqiu thought apple pie sounded delicious, so off they went.
As soon as they reached Mrs. Bear’s house, her children ran out to greet her.
“Qiuqiu,” Mrs. Bear said, “this is Homer, Little Croc, and Chubby. I’m their mother too!”
The sweet smell of apple pie and the happy laughter of the children filled Mrs. Bear’s house.
After enjoying the delicious treat, Mrs. Bear gave all her children a big, warm, and tight hug.
Qiuqiu felt very happy, because his new mother looked just like herself.
