Environmental awareness story for kids: The Nose Ran Away

“Breaking news! Last night, a large number of unidentified objects were seen running from the city toward the outskirts…” Early in the morning, I was woken up by the sound of the news.

I walked into the bathroom as usual, ready to wash up. “Oh no, my nose is gone!” I screamed. My parents rushed over at the sound, and to my horror, their noses were gone too! How could we go out like this? We were frantic, running in circles, until my mom came up with a solution: cover our mouths and noses with cloth before heading out!

When I got to school, I noticed all my classmates were covering their noses, heads down, not saying a word. The teacher was the first to remove the covering, and everyone looked at each other before taking off their coverings one by one. Seeing that everyone’s nose was missing, the teacher suggested, “Let’s find our noses together!”

We quickly formed a “Nose Search Team” and conducted a thorough search, hoping to find our noses as soon as possible. Soon, the entire city joined the search party!

To our surprise, the “unidentified objects” that had gathered in the outskirts last night were actually everyone’s noses, enjoying the fresh air on the grass!

We were overjoyed to have found our noses. But no matter how much we tried to persuade them, the noses simply refused to return to their owners’ faces. People started accusing the noses of abandoning their duties, being irresponsible, and severely damaging our health and appearance.

“Waah…” the noses started to sob. “Do you know why we ran away? Do you know how much harm air pollution causes us? The dirty air makes it hard for us to breathe… What’s even worse is that we suffer from diseases like rhinitis—do you even know that?”

Hearing this, everyone hung their heads in shame. I suffer from rhinitis, so my nose has indeed gone through a lot. Look at my nose—it’s crying while wiping away snot!

In the end, we reached an agreement with the noses: the noses would return to their owners’ faces, and people must treat their noses well.

We have our noses back! To make sure we never lose them again, we worked hard to improve the environment. Now, there’s lush green grass everywhere, and the air is exceptionally fresh.

I also developed a new habit: looking in the mirror more often, just to make sure my nose is still on my face!
