Educational Story Kid: The Little White Rabbit Turns into a Little Black Rabbit

The little white rabbit followed his grandma to the bustling street. There were food vendors and toy stalls, and the little white rabbit was dazzled by the sights.

“Wow, what’s that?” The little white rabbit tugged on his grandma’s hand, running ahead excitedly. Ah, it was colorful helium balloons! They were so beautiful!

“Grandma, can you buy me a balloon?” the little white rabbit asked, pointing at the balloons floating in the air.

“Sure, as long as you like it, we’ll buy one!” Grandma, also fond of the balloons with cartoons like “Pleasant Goat,” “Winnie the Pooh,” and “SpongeBob,” agreed.

“Then let’s buy a ‘SpongeBob’ one. I like it the most.”

Grandma paid for the balloon, and the little white rabbit skipped along, holding the helium balloon. Many adults, seeing the beautiful balloons, bought one for their own children too.

When the little white rabbit and his grandma returned from their outing, the streets were filled with various colorful balloons. Nearly every child had one.

Back home, the little white rabbit couldn’t bear to put his balloon down. He ran from room to room, singing: “Balloon, balloon, round and round, balloon, balloon, flying high, don’t leave me, let’s be friends.”

Grandma laughed and said, “Dear, take a rest with your friend. I’ll make something delicious for you. Just wait.” She went into the kitchen and started cooking.

The little white rabbit couldn’t listen to his grandma’s advice. He still held on to “SpongeBob,” running from room to room, singing: “Balloon, balloon, round and round, balloon, balloon, flying high, don’t leave me, let’s be friends.”

He sang as he approached the kitchen, wanting to see what delicious food grandma was making. Suddenly, he heard a loud “bang” as the helium balloon got too close to the stove and exploded.

And the little white rabbit? No, he couldn’t be called the little white rabbit anymore because he had turned into a little black rabbit. He sat on the floor, crying out, “Grandma, it hurts so much!”

Grandma was terrified. She quickly picked him up, noticing that his fur was all burnt, and called 120 for emergency services. At the hospital, the doctor examined the little rabbit and found that only his fur was burnt and there was no life-threatening injury. But a little black bear in the same ward was not as lucky. He had also been injured by a helium balloon explosion, and the doctor said one of his legs needed to be amputated.

The little white rabbit received treatment and soon recovered.

As they walked out of the hospital, the little white rabbit told his grandma, “I will never buy a helium balloon again!”

“Yes, we must stay away from this beautiful but dangerous thing from now on!”

------Little Knowledge------

Hydrogen is a flammable and explosive gas. If the volume of hydrogen mixed in the air reaches 4% to 74.2% of the total volume, it will explode when ignited. Hydrogen balloons pose many hidden dangers, especially when near heat sources, they are very prone to exploding and burning, which can easily cause injuries to children and lead to tragedies. We should stay away from hydrogen balloons and increase our safety awareness.
