Dog adventure: Clifford’s Summer
Last year, we had the hottest summer ever. Clifford was panting heavily from the heat. He drank all the water in his bowl, but he still felt hot. He drank another bowl of water, but he still felt hot. A small dog was sitting in a car enjoying the breeze, looking so cool.
Before Emily could stop him, Clifford jumped onto a big truck. Ah, the feeling of the breeze was fantastic… The truck didn’t drive for long before entering a tunnel. Oh, no! A penguin was carrying a gift to visit a bear. He sat on a ship for days and days. The weather got hotter and hotter, and the penguin’s package got lighter and lighter. After a long journey, he finally reached the bear’s hometown.
On his way home, Clifford saw some dogs swimming in a pool. He jumped in with a splash—
“Oh no, he jumped into the wrong place!” Everyone was very angry.
Clifford quickly slipped away, realizing he needed to find another way to cool down. He passed by a stadium and felt a cool breeze from the entrance.
Clifford squeezed through the entrance and lay down on the ice. Ah, it was so cool! “Get out of here!” the skaters shouted angrily. “You’re melting the ice!” Sigh, Clifford had no choice but to leave.
Emily remembered a park on the edge of town that had a waterfall. Look, what a magnificent waterfall! Now, Clifford felt very comfortable!
Suddenly, an out-of-control boat rushed down, and the children screamed in fear. Luckily, Clifford was there. He easily caught the boat, saving the children from danger. The children’s father was very grateful to Clifford and said, “Clifford is such a cool dog!”
